I never thought I would be saying this but John and I made the tough decision to sell our most beautiful treasured happy place, Seashell Cottage. Since 2013, our beautiful beach home has given us so much joy and we made the most amazing memories with family and friends. Nothing can out-match the beach just steps away and those evening sunsets are simply magical. The house itself is so welcoming every time we walk through the door, it gives us a feeling of relaxation. As family and friends gathered, there were so many nooks and crannies available for quiet time. We made so many good friends in Cape Charles. Best neighborhood with the most fun welcoming neighbors and we still enjoy time with friends we made every time we come down. We have friends that will always remain in our hearts and we count on seeing them regardless of the miles away from our home town.
The sad reason we concluded its time to sell Seashell Cottage is because of the 5 - 6 hour drive from PA. As we aged the drive has become cumbersome. Another reason is that our son bought a shore home at the Jersey Shore and we as well as our family and friends now gather there. It is a 7 hour + drive for most our family to come down to Cape Charles.
While it hasn't hit me yet to give up Seashell Cottage, one thing I know is that we can never replace what we have with the closeness of the beach, the views of the water from the upper deck, the golf cart rides through the Nature Trail, the shops, restaurants and the uniqueness of this lovely coastal town. It is sad yet the past couple years we haven't been able to come down often to enjoy our beach home. The good news is with the prime location, makes it beneficial as a short term vacation rental to be fully booked during the summer along with seasonal holidays and off season long weekends where families and friends have gathered. There is no time that is not special to enjoy all the house has to offer.
We hope whoever buys Seashell Cottage will feel the love we do and will make as many treasured memories as we did.
Seashell will always remain in our hearts as well this special little coastal town and the friendly, kind people.
We love you Seashell Cottage. Thank you for giving us some of the best times in our lives. May you be appreciated forever. May the conversations and the fun that happens on the wrap around porch, stay on the porch!!! Good times were had. We will miss the joy we had. We will begin our search for Lagoon Life in Beach Haven West, Manahawkin NJ. Wish us luck!!!

Beautiful Cape Charles, VA on the Chesapeake Bay. This lovely boutique town offers unique shops, a variety of eateries and two beautiful marinas. The location offers day trips to Assenteague Island, Williamsburg or an exciting night out in Virginia Beach. Seashell Cottage comfortably sleep 11, has a fully stocked kitchen, dining room, large living room and family room and half bath. Upstairs offers a master suite with a large TV sitting room with pull out couch and large bathroom with tub and shower, two additional bedrooms with a deck with water view off both BR for a relaxing morning coffee or a late night glass of water to watch the cruise ships and hall bathroom with shower. The third floor has a bedroom with a spectacular view of the water. perfect for children with two twin beds, a pullout twin couch and an air hockey table. The beach is steps away from the large wrap around porch and the most spectacular sunsets will not disappoint. Most amazing sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay in beautiful Cape Charles. Sit on the upper deck or on the lower patio and watch the sunset. I enjoy riding my golf cart to the corner where everyone meets up for sunset and we always meet new friends.

We are ready! Exactly 5 years ago, we opened on June 28, 2018 and now we are ready to re-open right on June 28, 2022. We will be at the beach, parked on Bay Ave. from 11am to 8pm-ish. I’m so so excited!

Seashell Cottage is truly my happy place. The moment I step through the front door I feel a sense of calm and get a happy feeling. We love exploring all the shops and dining in town but we mostly appreciate having our family and friends here with us to enjoy all the wonderful moments that make lasting memories. My favorite time to sit out on the upper deck is at night. It is so peaceful to watch the boats pass. If you are lucky, during the day you may see dolphins frolicking in the Bay. It is a fun time gathering out on the porch and chatting about little things yet when we are alone we enjoy the quietness and watch the golf carts go by. Cape Charles has so much to offer. Primarily it was the beach that lured us here. The calmness of the waves gives us a sense of tranquility. I love riding my golf cart and waving at the friendly people out on their porch. John and I hope that our vacationing guest enjoy our beach home as much as we do. Making memories is so important and this is our most favorite place to do it. We hope you will visit soon.
