Fruit Hill Farm, The Guest Houae and The Nest. Good to be back in Cincinnati. My garden is calling and I must go. Spent the day and most likely rest of the summer pulling weeds, pruning etc. HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE, isn’t that what they say!
We have a Guest in The Nest, a new guest arriving for The Guest House. And a missionary group arriving for 6 weeks for both The Nest and The Guest House. My dream of being a bed and breakfast has come true with a twist.

The JOY OF MANAGING a short term rental!!’ Stu and I had appliance issues this week. First the fridge stopped producing ice, then it poured hot water out of the water line, then it stopped cooling the main fridge. However it cooled the freezer and cooler drawer. Years ago a friend who helped us, decided to hang our cabinets while we were away. He did not include the 2” spacer. It took four of us to push the 36” fridge into the 36” space.

It took one “Stu”dly property owner/manager one centimeter at a time to get it out. Ugh!!! We ordered a new 33” fridge and it took 3 weeks to arrive. Good thing we had a back up fridge in the garage. We
Let the fridge thaw for four days and it is currently working at Serendipity, fingers crossed.

While moving some things around, something fell on the Serendipity glass cook top. The quartz had been custom cut to fit around the older cooktop/oven. Well we purchased a new stove and it would not fit. Jerson, The countertop guy came out to the house on a Sunday morning to make the necessary cuts. We now have a stove and a fridge. We have assembled an amazing team of the finest craftsmen over the years. Unfortunately we now know the appliance delivery guy Michael as we have seen him almost weekly this past quarter. Serendipity is finished except for a pool. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, lakefront, sunrise with a spa home. If you know of someone looking for a getaway rental we will consider it. No pets, no smoking, no fence.

Yes we all know that the Sunset views from Sunset Cottage and Mermaid Cove cannot be beat, but did you know you can see the sunset shining on the house from across the lake? Yes, very cool.

Two weeks of intense focus on our family ran business. New appliances, refresh on furniture, new pavers, power
washing, moving furniture and changing out mattresses. Patio furniture was rethought and moved around. New mattress protectors, we know what it takes to keep things fresh and updated.
