Letter to the Pack:
I moved back to Maine on New Year’s Eve in 2016. The Maine Pack came to form shortly after that (maybe somewhat illegally in our short term rental). I had my own two dogs, whom I spent a lot of time and energy on, that were a major reason for me diving into this new field. I was on a journey to learn and explore what worked best for them, which led me to helping other dogs and owners with their relationships.
The business was ‘official’ once John and I found our property in Cape Elizabeth, and we had a yard! There were lots of helping hands who contributed to making this idea come to life. I will forever wonder how I got so lucky to get the support from this community: clients, employees, John and family that have made this business, and my life, thrive. It truly has been all of your kind words and support that built something I am so proud of.
I never really had a 5 or 10 year plan, or even a 1 year plan. I just wanted to keep growing and learning and improving. .c.levesque being a huge part of this small and mighty team helped me do those things, and she gave the dogs all of herself every moment she was with them. She’s contributed so much joy, commitment, care, and skill with each dog. There is no one else I would have wanted by my side, it is clear by their reactions, that the dogs feel the same way.
The time I’ve spent getting to know you, and the relationships built with your dog, are irreplaceable. It is a special kind of trust to put your dog’s care in someone else’s hands. It has meant the world to me that The Maine Pack could be that place for so many.
As I have come into my 10th year of running the business, I have decided that it is time for my next chapter: I am ready to close the doors of the Maine Pack and see what else is out there for me and the new ways I might be able to serve. Things will continue to run as normal, until the last day of operation, February 28th. Each season of The Maine Pack has brought us new gifts and learning, and each dog has provided us with smiles every single day. We cannot wait to soak up and enjoy these last few months with everyone. 🤍🤍🤍
