CarletonVilla Giving History A New Life

05/10/2026

Today feels a little different for our family. It’s hard to simply say “Happy Mother’s Day” when my mother passed away 2 weeks ago today. The loss of such a loving woman is still difficult to process, and we deeply miss her presence in our lives. 💚

But as we remember her today, we remember so much more than her final days.

Mom lived with such steady faith—always reading, learning, and truly trying to live it out each day. I keep picturing her serving every week at church, greeting people with that warm smile… never fully knowing how much that simple kindness may have meant to someone walking through those doors. 🙏

Her life was so full of goodness, love, and quiet strength. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother… a caring friend… and someone who genuinely lived her faith daily. Her smile, her kindness, and the way she made people feel seen and welcomed are the things that truly shaped her legacy.

Today I worked with AI to create a tribute in her honor — a vision for what will someday be called The Patricia Suite. Mom always loved all shades of green, leaves, and pineapples, so those touches became part of the design. It made me smile imagining how much she would have loved it. 🍃🍍

Some of you were fortunate enough to meet her during her visit to Cape Vincent and the Carleton Villa two years ago. We spent time walking the property together, dreaming about what it could one day become. Those memories feel especially meaningful today.

This Mother’s Day, I thank God for the gift of her life, her faith, and the love she poured into all of us. She is deeply missed, but I know she is now at peace with the Lord. 🙏💚

Faith Sees the Future Before It Arrives

Wishing everyone a Blessed Easter from The Carleton Villa. ✝️

This Easter, we’re reminded that faith sees beyond what is… and holds onto what can still be. This AI-generated vision of a restored Carleton Villa reflects more than a future renovation—it reflects hope, renewal, and the promise that beautiful things can rise again.

May your Easter be filled with faith, peace, and the joy of His resurrection.
Blessed Easter to you and your family🙏

Big update!! Justice James McClusky of the New York Supreme Court dismissed major portions of the lawsuit filed by the Thousand Islands Land Trust against the Carleton Villa. The pause is lifting.SEQRA review can resume. We move forward — trusting God’s timing every step of the way.

Before this year closes…

Carleton Villa has stood for 130 years—through change, challenge, and quiet seasons of waiting.
Today, it stands at the beginning of renewal.

As the year comes to an end, we invite you to be part of preserving this historic place with a year-end gift to Carleton Villa Foundation. Your support helps protect the Villa, advance responsible restoration planning, and carry this mission forward with care and faith.

If you’ve been considering a gift, today is a meaningful time.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give.”
—2 Corinthians 9:7

🎅 Guess what I asked Santa for?

Here’s a hint: we’re hoping to begin 2026 with long-awaited approvals, open doors, and forward momentum as the restoration of Carleton Villa continues.

This image captures something we are still believing for.
A future moment.
A restored Villa.
A place once again filled with light, warmth, and purpose.

While the Carleton Villa is not yet glowing like this today, Christmas invites us to imagine what can be—a historic home renewed, welcoming people once more, and standing as a testament to preservation, perseverance, and faith.

📖 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.”
— Philippians 1:6

At Christmas, we’re reminded that great things often begin quietly—first as a promise, then as hope, and finally as reality.

Wishing you a blessed and Merry Christmas, and a New Year filled with peace, promise, and forward momentum. 🙏🎄✨
