EMERGENCY REPORT:
The Hawaii police department and National Park Service have issued an emergency closure as episode 41 of the Kilauea eruption intensifies. High- Altitude fountain is generating significant ash-fall and tephra, making roads hazardous.

CRITICAL ACTIONS FOR RESIDENTS:
If you are downwind (Glennwood, Fern Forest, Mountain View, or Oceanview) please take immediate precautions!

Stay indoors: Close ALL windows and doors. Seal Gaps with damp towels if ash begins to enter.

PROTECT WATER:
Cover open water catchment tanks to prevent contamination from volcanic glass and ash!

Recommended Steps for Precaution:
- Check that water catchment covers are tightened down accordingly, no sagging or pooling
- Adding a pre-tank filter to your tank system to filter out debris that run off from the roof and gutters BEFORE entering the tank
- Changing filters / having extra on hand. Tephra causes filters to clog quicker and has been known to cause itchiness.

With the recent volcano eruption, increased Tephra has been reported in the air!

Here are a few tips on how to get ahead of the Volcanic Rain and Ash and keep your water source CLEAN!

1.Pre-Tank Filtration! The Maelstrom Pre-Tank filter is the perfect candidate for times like this; it will assist with filtering the water that is caught from the roof before entering the tank.
2.Pioneer Water Tank - Installing our Pioneer Water Tank with it's hard cover roof, built in pre-tank filter to keep any unwanted material from entering your tank.
3.Additional Filters - Ensuring you have 2-3 filters in place to prevent tephra from entering your house plumbing.
