The Cottage is booking up. Are you missing sunrises like these? Do you love the idea of your choice of a bunch of day hikes close by, or is a fishing trip or whitewater rafting trip on your summer bucket list? We are located in Caratunk, Maine, next to the Appalachian Trail river crossing at the Kennebec River's edge, and we love hosting people in our guest cottage, a Maine Cabin Masters project.

Thanks to all who came to enjoy some time at the cottage this summer. As this season gives way to the next we are working on getting everything ready for the quiet and tranquility that winter brings to our special spot.

Mike Pilsbury and I, Kimchi Wanders, love when we see people who have stayed at our Cottage or our Studio apartment find our pages. Some of our guests return yearly, and we love how with each return trip they seem more and more at home and relaxed. The Appalachian Trail Kennebec River crossing is about 100 yards/meters upstream from our lawn. 1/2 mile south on the trail is a nice little waterfall and pool in the stream that runs along the trail for about 3 miles. A few Adventure Bound rafting guides canoed across from our lawn yesterday evening to explore the stream and waterfall. I love seeing guests and local seasonal friends taking advantage of all our area has to offer.

It's almost time! Rigby (the Maine c**n kitty), and I have been cleaning, and the cozy cabin is just about ready for another summer of guests. Mike and I spent some time this winter giving the bathroom a makeover. (Full disclosure: Mike did the hard work). We are so lucky year after year to meet the wonderful people who come here to fish, hike, raft, rest, write, do photography, attend weddings, and more. Mike is out west for a few more weeks, guiding on the Green River then he's back here to guide on the Kennebec.
