Devil's Kitchen Cabins is owned and operated by Lynn and Jan Bush. We have both lived in the Jackson/Williamson County area all of our lives and truly love living in Southern Illinois . We are the fourth generation to live on this property. We have two cabins available for rental on our 80 + acre property. Our hideaway log cabins are located deep in the woods of Southern Illinois , in the midst of
several thousand acres of the Shawnee National Forest, and is adjacent to the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Devil's Kitchen Lake, Little Grassy Lake, Crab Orchard Lake, Cedar Lake and Lake of Egypt . We are centrally located, approximately a 10-15 minute drive from Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Carterville and Goreville. We are also located less than a 30-minute drive from Kincaid Lake and Rend Lake . Hiking trails that wind all around Devil's Kitchen Lake are adjacent to our property. Our cabins are located in a very secluded area and we bring to you a private retreat in the middle of spectacular woods, with all of the comforts of home. Our rustic log cabin is designed to sleep 6 guests comfortably, and you receive much more value than at motels. Ideal for a family retreat or a romantic get-away, one price includes all amenities. Our cabins provide affordable lodging combined with the relaxing atmosphere of the great outdoors. Our cabin were designed with our guests in mind. We have gone to great lengths to provide the rustic log cabin style, with all of the modern comforts of home, and a few extra luxuries. The view from the cabins is breathtaking! While staying at our cabins, you will be surrounded by woods, and it is not unusual to see and hear a variety of birds and animals, including deer, turkeys, squirrels and even flying squirrels. We invite you to relax in the large 6-person sunken hot tub on the screened-in back deck or to have a family cook-out on the large gas barbecue grill. Also enjoy an evening fire out back next to the creek-rock fire pit. On the main floor of each cabin, the cozy great room features a natural stone fire place, constructed from creek-rock collected on our property. We also have a quality entertainment and sound system including a high definition, flat screen T.V., satellite, stereo with DVD and CD players, with speakers mounted in the ceiling of the great room, front porch and back deck. The fully functional kitchen features beautiful hand-crafted Amish-made natural hickory cabinets. Both the main floor bedroom and loft offer hand-crafted Amish-made log queen size beds, dressers and end tables. The futon in the great room also sleeps two in front of the fireplace. The bathroom includes a spacious full-size shower with seat and washer and dryer. Relax on the front porch in the hand-crafted Amish-made porch swing and rocking chairs and enjoy the beautiful view and peace and quiet of this uniquely remote and secluded area. We also offer a spacious drives in order to accommodate vehicles with trailers pulling fishing and ski boats.
