LOCAL FLAVOR WEDNESDAY

This week, we’re heading into Lafayette for breakfast or lunch at Ema's Cafe

Ema’s is the kind of local spot where you can start your morning with a classic breakfast or go a little more Louisiana with something like a Cajun Benedict or seafood omelet. And if you’re stopping in for lunch, you’ll find plenty of South Louisiana flavor there too, including crawfish étouffée, seafood, crab cakes and gumbo.

One of the things we love about Local Flavor Wednesday is finding those places where you can sit down, enjoy a good meal, and get another taste of what makes Acadiana such a great place to explore.

So now we need some help from the Ema’s Cafe regulars:

Are you going for breakfast or lunch, and what should a first-time visitor order?

BAYOU WILDERNESS LIVING MONDAY

Some of the best parts of Bayou Wilderness aren’t listed on an amenities page.

Meet Jack and Jill, two of our favorite residents and a big part of the personality around Bayou Wilderness RV Park.

They’re always ready to say hello, pose for a picture, and make sure you don’t walk by without noticing them. Whether you’re here for a few nights or staying with us a little longer, it’s those small, unexpected moments that make a place feel memorable.

That’s part of what we love about Bayou Wilderness. It’s peaceful, comfortable, and just a little bit different from your everyday RV park.

So next time you’re out walking around the property, be sure to stop by and say hello to Jack and Jill.

Now we want to know: which one do you think has the bigger personality, Jack or Jill?

LOCAL FLAVOR WEDNESDAY

This week, we’re heading into Downtown Lafayette for a stop at Johnson's Boucanière

If you love discovering places with a little history behind the food, this one belongs on your list. Johnson’s carries on a family tradition that dates all the way back to 1937, serving up house-made boudin, smoked sausage, brisket, BBQ and plenty of other South Louisiana favorites.

You’ll find everything from smoked meat plates and po’boys to boudin and one menu item that definitely caught our attention: a boudin-stuffed grilled cheese.

This is exactly what Local Flavor Wednesday is all about. Finding those locally rooted places that give you a real taste of Acadiana.

Now we need to hear from the Johnson’s regulars:

If it’s your first visit, what are you ordering?
