*BRYAN STATION: At 10 a.m., you will again meet in the lobby to catch a ride to the replica fort where you see how the story of the battle begins miles away. A presenter will be waiting to give background facts before you witness the famous “Women at the Well” story. You will also go into the fort to see militia officers debate the best course following this siege.
*BANKS OF THE LICKING: From there you will be shuttled to a point along the Licking River. Our presenter will share with you what happened just before the heat of the conflict ensued and then we can see a council of war by the militia officers.
*LUNCH: Around 11:30 a.m. you will return to the lodge for a buffet lunch. You might also take a break or look around the gift shop!
*MUSEUM TOUR: At 12:30 p.m. we will leave the lobby and shuttle to the museum. The naturalist will give you some interesting facts about different artifacts and how the museum came to be.
*BURIAL SITE AND Q/A: Our final segment will take place at the burial ground – a short walk from the museum. Our presenter will give you the devastating and tragic details of the battle’s aftermath. You will see Simon Girty and Blue Jacket discuss their victory and the realities of war.
We will have you back to the lodge around 1:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. Please keep in mind artistic liberties will be used in the re-enactment portions of the program. However, much of the tour will include well-documented facts and logistics.
To inquire about availability, please contact the park naturalist at [email protected] by 4 p.m. on October 2nd. Payment can be made on the day of the program by card or cash. See ya there!
