Fun fact: Each room is named after a tree, from Cypress and Redwood to Magnolia and Laurel! 🌲

Back in 1927, the original owners named the rooms after the native trees surrounding the property. Many of our rooms feature cozy fireplaces, private entrances, and peaceful garden views.

Carmel-by-the-Sea is known for being one of the most dog-friendly towns in California, where dogs can run off-leash along Carmel Beach and sit alongside you at outdoor cafes. We have select dog-friendly rooms here at the inn so your pup can join in on the coastal hikes and sandy walks (just give us a call before booking so we can reserve one of our pet-friendly rooms for you!).

William Billinger built our six cottages back in 1927, and he chose this quiet corner on Casanova Street for a reason. It's far enough from the nightlife to hear the waves each night, but close enough to walk *everywhere* from morning coffee downtown to a sandy sunset.
