We bought Mystic Valley Campground as a foreclosed campground that no one had loved in a long time. The campground was a successful campground in the 90s called Shady Acres Campground, and we even contacted the past owners form that time, Mike and Elsie, and they came over to help us locate the underground waterlines and septic stuff. I can see why they were successful campground owners! Dale and

I had been flipping a few homes along with working regular jobs and were a little scared taking on this big of a project, but I really wanted to run a campground. for my retirement income Turns out we should have been scared as the last owners really didn't take care of it at all. Along with that the septic plans we were given when we purchased it do not even go to this campground so it was a rough beginning to say the least. It took us a year and a half to get to the point of being able to pass inspection and get our campground license. Because of all of the unexpected expenses and the much higher cost of everything now with COVID, we have not been able to make as many upgrades as we wanted to. But on the bright side of this, I think our campers are going to enjoy having a say in the upgrades we do choose so that it is a campground that works for them. We have added a camp store and are adding a commercial kitchen so we can sell fresh bread and baked goods in the store. Hope you can give us a chance and come camp with us this summer!
