TIMBER FIRE BIG SUR UPDATE:
Saddle Mountain Carmel has not been affected by the fire. Our property is located a considerable distance from the impacted area and is not at risk of evacuation/closure. We remain open and fully operational, and all upcoming reservations are valid and able to proceed as planned.
Since the fire began last week, our area has continued to experience a heavy marine fog layer, which has helped maintain safe air quality levels. At this time, there has been no smoke from the fire affecting our area.
We encourage all guests to monitor their travel plans and routes prior to arrival. Guests traveling from the north may continue to access the property via Highway 1. For those traveling from the south, we recommend taking US 101 and following the appropriate route toward Carmel Valley.
Our thoughts are with the residents, local businesses, and wildlife during this difficult and uncertain time. A sincere thank you to all of the agencies, organizations, and individuals working to keep the Big Sur community safe!
