This crossroads is Round Top's whole downtown, one stretch of Highway 237 anchored by Royers Round Top Cafe, a chicken-fried-steak stop plenty of Texans have driven an hour out of their way for on an ordinary weekend.

How small is Round Top, Texas? The 2020 Census counted eighty-seven year-round residents inside the town limits, though a newer Census Bureau estimate puts the number closer to ninety-three today. Either way, it's one of the smallest incorporated towns in the state, a fact its own motto leans into rather than hides: Big Time Small.

Twice a year this quiet crossroads becomes the gateway to the largest antiques show of its kind in the nation, when dealers and interior designers from across the country funnel through this exact intersection on their way to Marburger Farm, Blue Hills, and the Big Red Barn.

A place this small hosting a show this big proves you don't need a skyline to matter in Texas. Is there a town this size near you that punches just as far above its weight?
