June 2026 brings the official arrival of peak summer on the island. The calendar is packed with a mix of milestone celebrations and recurring weekly series that keep the Boardwalk and the lake buzzing all month long.
Marquee Festivals
40th Annual Carolina Beach Music Festival
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026
Time:10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Carolina Beach Boardwalk (right on the sand)
This milestone 40th anniversary celebration stands as the longest-running beach music festival in the country still held directly on the shoreline. Attendees can bring coolers and beach chairs to spend the day dancing barefoot.

Weekly Summer Series
The town’s signature summer programming runs full-steam through June, offering free family entertainment across multiple days of the week.
Thursday Nights: Fireworks by the Sea & Boardwalk Blast
Dates: June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25, 2026
Time: Music starts at 6:30 PM; Fireworks at 9:00 PM
Location: Boardwalk Gazebo Stage
A classic summer tradition. Every Thursday night features free live music from local and regional bands at the gazebo, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the ocean.
Friday Nights: Cape Fear Blues Festival (Regional)
Dates:Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21, 2026
Location:Multiple venues across the Cape Fear area (including local beach stages)
While centered in Wilmington, this soulful multi-day music event features national and local blues headliners expanding to nearby coastal venues.
Saturday Mornings: Markets at the Lake
Dates: Every Saturday morning throughout June
Time:8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location:Carolina Beach Lake Park
A local favorite for fresh morning strolls. The lakeside market features a rotating selection of local produce, baked goods, handmade coastal crafts, and unique artisan goods.
Sunday Nights: Summer Movies at the Lake
Dates:Every Sunday night in June (June 7, 14, 21, and 28)
Time:Begins at dusk
Location:Carolina Beach Lake Park
Families can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks to watch family-friendly films displayed on a massive outdoor inflatable screen right by the water. Admission is completely free.
Tuesday Nights: Family Night at the Lake
Dates:June 16, June 23, and June 30, 2026
Time:6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location:Carolina Beach Lake Park
This series kicks off mid-month, offering free kid-focused entertainment, face painting, and educational wildlife presentations hosted by the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project.
