Not every rental property project has to suck. 🌭🔨

Yesterday’s adventure at the Crafty Cottage:

Rotten deck board discovered.
Trip to Lowe’s.
$14 in lumber.
A little cutting, drilling and creative problem solving.
One more item crossed off the never-ending property maintenance list. ✅

And perhaps most importantly…

I rewarded myself with a hot dog from the cart in front of Lowe’s.

Total project cost: $14
Sense of accomplishment: priceless
Lowe’s hot dog: also pretty darn good. 😂

This is the not-so-glamorous side of owning and managing vacation rentals — but every once in a while, you get an easy win.

I’ll take it.

It takes a lot of work to preserve the view… but it’s worth it. 🌄

Owning a mountain cabin isn’t all sunsets and relaxing on the deck. There’s always something to trim, fix, clean, improve or maintain.

But then the tools get put away, the sun starts to drop behind the mountains, and you remember exactly why you do it.

A little work. A pretty incredible reward.
