🐴 A Little Look at One of Our Gray Colts 🐴

I wanted to share a picture of this good-looking gray c**t with everyone. He is by He’s So Epic, and his dam is She’s a Running Eagle.

I’m really excited to watch this young horse grow and see what he turns into. He’s got a beautiful gray color, a lot of bone and substance, and just a really nice look to him already.

There’s something special about watching these young horses develop from the very beginning. You can look at them one day and think you know what they’re going to be, and then a few months later they’ve changed completely!

I’m proud to have this c**t here at Bottoms Up Arena, and I’ll be sharing pictures and updates as he grows.

Just wanted to introduce everyone to him and let you all watch him grow with me. ❤️🐴

I bet you didn't know… your horse makes its own soap. 🧼🐴

Ever notice that white foam on your horse's neck, between the back legs or under the saddle pad after a hard ride? That's not just sweat. It's lather.

Horse sweat contains a special protein called latherin. Scientists in Scotland found it works like a natural detergent, the same way soap does.

Why would a horse need soap? 🤔

A horse's coat is naturally oily and water-resistant, built to shed rain. That's great in a storm, but it's a problem when the horse needs to cool off. Latherin breaks through that oily coat so sweat can soak down to the skin and spread out, which helps it evaporate and cool the horse down.

So that foam? That's your horse's built-in cooling system hard at work. 💪

Bonus fact: horse sweat is saltier than their blood. That's the opposite of ours. A hard-working horse loses a lot of salt fast, which is why water and electrolytes matter so much, especially in the Arizona heat. ☀️
