We’ve had some pretty big storm systems move through recently and Saturday evening got the unfortunate news that our guests were experiencing a water leak into the bunk area.

I always feel frustrated when something impacts a guest’s stay because we work incredibly hard to keep our properties clean, well-maintained, and ready for families to enjoy. When something goes wrong, it feels personal. I worry and fuss and fret about the situation and the guests experiencing it.

We immediately worked with the guests to make a plan for the short term and this morning have a roofer on the way to take care of things.

Moments like that are a reminder that hospitality isn’t about everything going perfectly. It’s about showing up, communicating, and doing your best to take care of people when the unexpected happens.

To these guests- thanks for your patience, understanding, and trust. We never take it for granted. Walking into the house and finding your note of warm comments and a promise to come back was such a relief. We truly have the bests guest.
