If Main Street Castine seemed a little lively last night… guilty 😜 It was our Annual Drag BINGöet with the miniature artisans of IGMA, featuring Lloyd A Tracy 💃🏽💃🏽 Our hosts & Allandra led over 50 guests in a raucous round of games, joking around, dancing, death-dropping, all while the glitter and glitz abounded ✨ Special thanks to Monica Cado Shellabarger who coordinated for our team and to all the lovely guests who kept the party going ‘til Diana Ross’s “Last Dance” played us out the door 🕺🏼🧑‍🩰👯‍♀️

A little staff getaway to Roaring Lion Farm & Market was the perfect way to start our Sunday errands 🍳🥔 Arianna and Colin have built a lovely oasis of Maine hospitality, with a succinct but excellent breakfast menu that satisfies your appetite and your soul 🥰 Our kitchen staff especially loved the hearty pulled pork breakfast sandwiches this week, and we can’t wait to return for one of their Monday Night Markets ✨

It’s IGMA Guild School week in Castine 🤩 For those not in-the-know, one might simply pass by this little shelf in our lobby… perched atop is a miniature canoe with our logo and a hand-embroidered Pentagöet P. These are just some of the mind-blowing treasures that the miniature artisans of IGMA have gifted us over the years. From itty bitty furniture upholstery to tedious marquetry and even glass blowing, their work never ceases to amaze us! And it goes to show you that AMAZING things really do come in small packages ✨ Make sure to go scope out their exhibition next week at the Maine Maritime Academy Academy!

Come join us in the pub for a special collaboration with Blue Hill’s 🐠🪼🦀 Dr. Charles Rolsky will be hosting “Born This Way, and Every Way: Diversity Across the Animal Kingdom,” a fun, Pride Month-themed talk in the pub on Monday, June 15, at 5pm, inclusive of a little game he calls “So You Think YOU’VE got a Weird Relationship?” 😂 We will explore the animal kingdom’s most extraordinary connections. During this lecture, we’ll celebrate Pride by uncovering the diverse ways nature’s creatures bond, from same-sex pairings to q***r and trans relationships. These fascinating love stories reveal that diverse affection is a perfectly natural part of our world 🏳️‍🌈

So come on by, grab a glass of wine, and let’s talk about the animal kingdom, in all its fascinating ways! ✨

Our first book feature! 🤩📖 When of approached us about the idea of creating the first-ever .famous guide book, the answer was obvious 😍 She and came to the inn on the last day of the 2025 season to capture the Victorian decor, join us on a walkthrough, and interview us about our journey. We couldn’t be happier with how the book turned out—and the write-up is impeccable, a mix of history, opulence, and dramatics (just like us) 😜 As the title says “Victorian charm, an unforgettable atmosphere, and beloved Maine comfort dishes”—we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Check out the caption for the full write-up and see our stories to scope out our local friends who were featured as well! ❤️

Oysters are BACK! 🦪🦪 We’ve been receiving calls, and the answer is—yes! Mondays Shuck! Oyster Nights are returning on Mondays at the Pentagöet Inn courtyard 😍 Starting June 22 through September 14, we will be featuring or alongside light bites and wine specials 🧀🥂 Last year, our record was 400 oysters in one night—so a reminder that these evenings are first come, first shucked. No reservations needed, but coming early is encouraged so you get your share of bivalves 🙏🏼 Check the carousel for the schedule.

And Jazz on the Porch is returning Tuesday, June 30–for everyone asking about that too 😜

Despite the weather, Castiners packed Emerson Hall for today’s Memorial Day ceremony, and several made it down to the waterfront for the wreath-tossing. 🇺🇸

On Memorial Day, we remember that this day is more than just a day off—it is a moment to reflect and give thanks for the people who have given their lives in service to our country and the preservation of our rights. In a time when political tensions are high and the climate of our nation feels fraught, it’s good to pause and remember—it’s not about winning or losing or being the strong man. Today is a day about remembering our past and praying in hope of a brighter future.

Castine is unique in that we always mark the start of the day with our ceremony—perhaps it’s our town’s maritime history that makes this tradition so important to us ⚓️❤️ Thank you to all the towns folk and visitors who joined today, and thank you to our servicemen and women ✨
