Lost Moose Campground

Lost Moose Campground 'LIKE' us if you're all about outdoor recreation in Northern Idaho! The Smith and Carter families purchased the Lost Moose Campground in July of 2011.
(216)

It was formerly known as the "Dances with Bears Campground." As avid ATVers, we wanted to purchase a campground where we could share and promote our favorite form of recreation! For many years our summer vacations/family reunions have taken us to some great riding locations - such as Moab, Utah; Arapeen Trail, Utah; Paiute Trail, Utah; Little Sahara, Utah; St. Anthony Sand Dunes, Idaho; Island Par

k, Idaho; Sand Mountain, Nevada; Pismo Beach Dunes, California; High Lakes, California; Oregon Dunes; Browns Camp, Oregon; and others - but most of all we love to come to northern Idaho! The scenery is fantastic, the state is ATV friendly, and the riding is plentiful! So naturally, when we started shopping for a place to share our favorite sport and love for all forms of recreation, we had to look in Idaho! We believe we found the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and get a recreational re-boot! We hope you will come and share the mountains with us! When you are out and about on the trails, chances are you'll see moose, elk and deer - if you're lucky you may even see a bear! It's a real rarity when we hit the trails and don't see at least one of the above! Finding us is easy! Just take Exit 40 off of Interstate 90 and go south for 8 miles (there are signs along the way). Although six miles of the road is dirt, the road is well maintained and suitable for camp trailers and larger fifth wheels. If you have any questions or concerns about road conditions, give us a call!

Thankful for great friends and family who came out this weekend to help us get ready for the camping season! We are still in recovery mode from the flooding and windstorm damage we experienced last winter and we've been working hard to have everything ready. With their help we made some great progress this weekend!! Can't wait for summer and opening weekend, which is coming up fast on May 1!! We'll be kicking off the season with our annual Cinco de Mayo taco bar and Mexican potluck! The Squatch Spot and Miner's Cabin are still available, book today and don't miss out!

***SCAM ALERT***
To all our wonderful guests and Facebook followers... my sincerest apologies for the scammers who keep posting to our page with their fake tshirt ads and are tagging people. I'm doing my best to stay on top of it and I keep blocking them. Unfortunately, they keep changing profiles and posting again. Hopefully once they realize no one is going to fall for their scams they will stop.

Many of you have reached out asking about the New Years Day ride. Unfortunately, the recent flooding and windstorms caused damage to both the Campground and Latour Creek Road. For these reasons, we've decided it's best not to do the ride this year. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy New Year! Hope to see you all next year!

Thank you EVERYONE who came out this last weekend for the annual Halloween party! All I can say is wow, your creativity never ceases to amaze me! We had skeletons getting married, playing corn hole, floating the river, and having a pool party; we had pirate skeletons and a super awesome pirate ship; we had the price is right; a red neck bar; and if you had the right password, we even had a speak easy with amazing lemon drop martinis!🍸That's just to name a few of the awesome campsite decorations. Everyone did an amazing job and kids and adults alike had all kinds of fun options for trick or treating! We missed DJ Todd and his beautiful sidekick Lorry this year, but many thanks to Ken for stepping up to MC the event!
