This evening we visited the nation's number one Great Outdoor Light Display, located just 5 minutes away from our business, Hearthstone Inn & Suites in Cedarville, Ohio. A very cool crisp night, with temperatures in the lower 20s, made parking an absolute delight because of a smaller crowd. The historic Clifton Mill has won the great ABC TV Christmas Light Fight, and as a result, it attracts thousands of visitors from around the nation each Christmas holiday season. Many of them choose to stay with us at our independent hotel, where we provide a just a smaller bit of Christmas spectacle with lights and decorations.

If you have not visited Clifton, Ohio to see the Legendary Lights at Clifton Mill, do put that on your bucket list!

In Cedarville, Ohio, tonight it was our annual Little Town of Lights. Superbly organized and orchestrated by our Revitalize Cedarville village promotional committee.

Here at Hearthstone Inn & Suites we gave out our annual Krispy Kreme donuts and hot cocoa to a record-breaking 800 visitors to our hotel. Live music was featured in our lobby, including flutes, then strings, then brass. What a wonderful and memorable evening it was for our All-American town! See you all next year, the first weekend in December!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this amazing, pretty lady! Ruth Nazarian Zaharek had officially entered mid-life crisis at age 39....AGAIN! She's had a week filled with surprises and made some great memories!

Today being a holiday, Memorial Day, most shops, stores and restaurants are closed. Not a really good day to get a flat tire in between two points on the Ohio to Erie trail. Especially when your replacement inner tube is defective. As it was, we received a distress call from a cyclist having passed Cedarville, Ohio on their way to Columbus. The call was passed on to me, and having been an interstate cyclist and wrencher myself, we sprung into action and aided two damsels in distress. It was a challenging experience because the replacement inner tube itself was punctured. We keep a number of cycling repair supplies on hand at our hotel and we were able to get the cyclists back to their previous point on the Ohio to Erie Trail, heading towards Columbus, with a nice tailwind to help them make up time!

We just finished our 23rd participation in "Little Town of Lights", held each first Saturday night in December, here in Cedarville, Ohio. For 3 hours, this "small-town America" village of 4,000 people is transformed into a sort of "Whoville". Shops are open late, tasty goodies are offered, there are live animals on display (reindeer this year!), fund-raising auctions for the churches that support the Village "Food Pantry", and much more!

Here at our independent hotel, Hearthstone Inn & Suites (Cedarville, Ohio), we annually give out Krispy Kreme donuts and hot cocoa. Given this year's mild weather at 45-50 degrees F, the crowds REALLY came out! 45 dozen blasted through in 90 minutes....we ran out of donuts, even though we got 10 more dozen than 2022! Maybe we should just rent a Krispy Kreme conveyor-belt oven next year....

Our family business, Hearthstone Inn & Suites (Cedarville, Ohio), an independent hotel, was awarded first place by Midwestern Traveler Magazine, in the state of Ohio, in TWO categories, and we also were named as a finalist in two others! Thanks to ALL of you who voted!
