Join us May 7-10 for a live graffiti art weekend at Frontier Drive-Inn!

The Frontier Drive Inn is a Colorado thing — the plains, the sky, the silence, the stars. So we invited local Colorado artists to paint our Nomadicana Airstream trailers, each one interpreting what the San Luis Valley means to them.

Come by, watch the work unfold in real time, and experience the space as it transforms.

The Frontier Drive-Inn has partnered with Nomadicana to renovate five vintage Airstream trailers.

Meticulously designed with the level of detail you've come to expect from a Frontier room, each trailer is equipped with a queen bed, kitchenette sink, en-suite bathroom, heating and air conditioning, and a large deck.

Nomadicana has been featured in Dwell and Wildsam and is known for their western desert aesthetic.

"Every build starts with the trailer itself – understanding its history, its bones, and what it wants to become. From there we work through design, materials, and layout until every detail serves the space. It's a slow, intentional process, and that's by design." Nate Kantor of Nomadicana

Final touches are underway. Bookings are open now for summer and will fill quickly. If you have a date in mind, now is the time.

Something new is on the horizon…

Here’s a sneak peek at our brand new suites. These are still a work in progress, but we couldn’t wait to share!

For the first time ever, we’re offering rooms with king beds! Choose between one king bed or two queens. Adjoining rooms are optional, making these suites a great choice for families or larger groups.

The Monte Vista Crane Festival takes place March 6-8, but that’s just the peak. The Sandhill Cranes stay in the valley through the end of March.

The premier place to see the cranes is at the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge, where thousands gather during their spring migration. The best viewing is at dawn or dusk near the refuge’s wetlands and farm fields. At dusk, the cranes feed in the fields before flying to the water to roost for the night. Several viewing pull-offs along 15 S and 8 S also allow you to watch the incredible migration unfold.
