VERY SAD...Today, the 18th was the last day for 2015 to ride the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Colors were great!! Now it's time to plan your trip for next year! Just a side note...The Gandy Dancer Inn B&B is open year round, so if you'd like a little R&R keep us in mind! We are also going to be offering Gift Certificates for you to give to loved ones so they too can come up, spend a little time with us and ride the Cumbres Toltec in 2016. The 2015 Season of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is coming to an end very soon! The "colors" are awesome so if you haven't ridden the train yet you have 'til the 18th to see them. Just a side note...The Gandy Dancer Inn B&B is open Year Round, so just because the train is stopping, doesn't mean you can't come and enjoy a little R&R at the B&B! The Hot Tub awaits...

Just watching the Goose #5 pull into Chama yesterday. It'll be here for 5 days running back and forth between Chama and Antonito.

First time in a long time that the #463 has been the road locomotive out of Chama. Light train load today allowed for this great occasion.

Did you hear the news? Governor Martinez will be attending the train's opening day ceremonies and then riding the train to Osier and back. So glad she is coming to Chama...

4 more days and we start getting to know new and wonderful friends! First summer guests will start checking in on the 22nd.

Train starts running on Saturday, the 23rd and it's going to be a fabulous summer! You can't believe how green the mountains are with all the rain and snow we have had the last month.

The 23rd is upon us...the opening of the Cumbres &Toltec Scenic Railroad! Reservations for the train and the B&B are rolling in fast!! The weather is a little challenging...hail two days and ago and snow and hail today! The poor "poppies" are trying to bloom and we have tons of them this year. Also got our little pond out front running thanks to our Dirty Dudes couple that spent time with us last weekend!! It was a fun weekend and a lot of 'seasonal preparation' was accomplished! Make sure you consider a trip to Chama in the future....we promise 'fantastic' weather soon!!!

Piñon Flats is a National Park Service campground located at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in the San Luis Valley, and a great place to spend some time before Coming over to Chama for a ride on the Train.

They are opening up for the season starting tomorrow.
