It probably goes without saying, but Charles City Elks Lodge #418 will be CLOSED Monday, September 7 so that our employees and volunteers can enjoy the Labor Day holiday. We will resume our regular hours on Tuesday. Have a safe and relaxing holiday, everyone!

Wow! The parking lot looks great, doesn’t it? We’ve even got stripes! (Now, we’ll realize how bad we have been at parking in the past! LOL!)

The next big project??? Paying for this project! Donations are still being accepted, as you can well imagine. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far.

Thanks also to our members and guests for putting up with some inconveniences during this project. We think it was well worth it!

Another fun event at the lodge has just completed (UTV Trail Ride) and the parking lot project should be completed sometime this week. What a great way to end August and begin September! Add a Lodge meeting to our usual schedule, and you’ll find plenty of excuses to come visit us at your Charles City Elks Lodge this week!

Our thanks go out to Rick Cordes for volunteering his time and talents recently. A hail storm earlier this summer caused some hail damage on the siding on the garage on our Lodge property. Rick repaired those broken sections recently using some leftover materials from when it was re-sided… at no extra cost to the Lodge.

Here’s a quick photo dump from the Elks UTV Trail Ride held August 29. Thanks to our volunteers, participants, and sponsors for a great day. Many good people were involved and we would LOVE to name them all individually, but we know we would inadvertently forget someone, so we’re going with a generic THANK YOU and call it good. TODAY IS THE DAY!
The Elks UTV Trail Ride is still a “go” for today! Registration runs from 9-11 this morning before we hit the trail.

Participants (and any interested Elks members) can stop in for a tasty Bloody Mary for $7.00 until 11:30 this morning. Yum!

Work is moving along nicely on replacing the east parking lot at the Lodge. If all goes well, the first layer of asphalt should be laid this afternoon. There is a distinct possibility that those members with reservations for tonight’s meal MAY be able to park on the east side, making building access easier. Watch for cones and comport yourselves accordingly! Please give the construction crew plenty of space to get their work done. They are doing a great job, so far and we don’t want to slow them down or impede their progress.

Work continues in preparation for Saturday’s ride! Elks members are shown clearing the pat for Saturday’s Elks UTV Trail Ride. Registration is from 9-11 AM on Saturday, August 29. Pre-registration is appreciated, but not required.
