We are incredibly honored to share that Wentworth Mansion has been included in Condé Nast Traveler’s inaugural Triple Crown collection—a distinction reserved for hotels that have earned all three of the publication’s highest honors: the Hot List, Gold List, and Readers’ Choice Awards.

For a historic independent hotel with just twenty-one guestrooms in Charleston, this recognition feels especially meaningful. More than anything, it reflects the remarkable team whose warmth, care, and thoughtful hospitality make guests feel welcomed like family.

To the guests who have trusted Wentworth Mansion® with anniversaries, proposals, celebrations, weekends away, and life’s meaningful moments—thank you. We are deeply grateful to share in so many memories and honored to stand among this extraordinary collection of hotels from around the world. 🍾

Twenty-five years in a kitchen is about far more than recipes. 🎉

It is trust built over time. Quiet mentorship. Late nights, evolving menus, countless celebrations, and the privilege of creating meaningful moments around the table.

This month, we are honored to celebrate Executive Chef Marc Collins’ 25th anniversary at Circa 1886 Restaurant.

Since joining Circa 1886 in 2001, Chef Collins has helped shape not only the menu, but the very experience of dining here. His thoughtful approach to seasonal ingredients, commitment to hospitality, and enduring creativity have guided the restaurant through a quarter century of Charleston’s evolving culinary story.

Throughout June, we invite you to join us in celebrating Chef Collins’ remarkable milestone with these special anniversary offerings:

✨ The Marc Collins Cocktail
A signature twist on the classic Tom Collins featuring Jimmy Red Bourbon Whiskey from High Wire Distilling Co.

✨ The Return of a Guest Favorite
The beloved Southern Grilled Cheese returns with pimento cheese mousse, grilled brioche, Surryano ham, caviar, and cured yolk.

✨ Anniversary Giveaway
Every June diner will be entered to win one of two unforgettable experiences:

• A one-night stay at Wentworth Mansion® with dinner at Circa 1886 Restaurant
• A private in-home dinner for six prepared by Chef Marc Collins (for local residents)

Most importantly, we invite you to raise a glass to a chef whose passion, mentorship, and creativity have left a lasting mark on so many guests, colleagues, and friends.

Here’s to 25 extraordinary years, Chef. 🍷

What does hospitality feel like inside a home built in 1763? 🍍

Recently, our Marketing Director, Stacey Bodnar, joined the Grandma’s Silver podcast to explore the rhythms of hospitality at John Rutledge House Inn®—from lingering on the piazza with sweet tea in hand to the quiet rituals that make a historic stay feel deeply personal.

The conversation explores why Charleston’s historic homes still matter, how spaces shape the way we slow down and gather, and what it means to feel welcomed not simply as a guest, but as though you belong. Settle in with a glass of sweet tea (or wine) and have a listen.

Today, Charleston opens itself once again to 17 days of music, movement, storytelling, and the shared experience of gathering together through art—Spoleto!

At the opening ceremony, CEO Mena Mark Hanna reflected on a moment during the American Revolution when George Washington, facing mounting desertions and the possible collapse of the republic, chose to stage a play. Because even then, he understood something deeply human: people cannot hold together on logistics alone. We need shared imagination.

“Freedom of expression is not what free societies produce,” Hanna said. “It is what makes free societies possible.”

As the curtains rise across the ‘Holy City’, we are grateful to be part of a community where art continues to gather people from different walks of life into conversation, wonder, and connection.

Welcome to Spoleto season in Charleston! 🎭

We are honored to see Executive Chef Marc Collins and Circa 1886 Restaurant featured in a recent article from The Post and Courier celebrating Chef Collins’ remarkable 25-year legacy in Charleston’s culinary scene.

Next month will mark a quarter of a century since Chef Collins began to define fine dining in Charleston through his creativity, dedication to Southern ingredients, and unwavering commitment to exceptional hospitality. His leadership has shaped not only Circa 1886, but also the broader culinary identity of the city we are proud to call home.

We’re honored to see John Rutledge House Inn featured in a newly published piece in Town & Country exploring the city’s role during the American Revolution ahead of the 250th anniversary.

The article offers a thoughtful, nuanced look at Charleston’s layered history—bringing to life the people, places, and perspectives that shaped this pivotal moment in our nation’s story. To see the John Rutledge House Inn highlighted as “as close as you can get to sleeping with history” is especially meaningful, as the inn is the only home of a signer of the United States Constitution that now serves as a living national historic landmark and an inn.

This article is a powerful reminder that in Charleston, history isn’t just preserved—it’s experienced.
