Constitution, John Rutledge, built his stately home in 1763 at its famous Broad Street address. Through the centuries, Rutledge's home has been remodeled and repurposed, taking on its role as an inn in 1989. The inn's rich history tells stories of sipping afternoon tea with President George Washington, entertaining President William Howard Taft, and whipping up the first-ever batch of She-Crab Soup.
