The Lodge will be helping with the Council-wide Camporee & Family Camp, October 9-11, 2026. We have positions for everyone so please let us know you will attend. We have new stickers for your water bottle with a QR code to the Lodge website.

We had a great hike at the summer picnic earlier this month. There was plenty of food prepared by Chef Rosie, lots of patches available at the trading post with Debbie, and many non hikers fellowshipping in the mess hall but I forgot to take pics of that. One special guest was a grandpa that went to camp at Arrowhead as a youth. I took pics of his grandson’s on the same rock he climbed many years ago. Join us for the next event to build more memories, make new friends, eat good food, and maybe even hike!

Driving onto Summit property means entering an adventure! The road is gravel and dusty but you know fun is all along the way. The name of that road is Jack Furst Dr. it is the long road at meanders around the Goodrich Lake over to Summit Center and beyond. We had the the opportunity to meet with the man the road is named in honor of for all his work to create the Bechtel Summit. The proposed vision was a small camp but his idea was much more grand. He envisioned a camp that could offer many adventures and opportunities for Scouts to enjoy the great outdoors. That dream is the Summit and and it is in our backyard!

We had a great opportunity to meeting and speak to the great grandson of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts. Lord David Baden-Powell is still involved in international Scouting. He works to continue the work his great grandfather started by visiting Scouts at Jamborees, camporees, and in communities around the world.
