I'm happy to share another wonderful review!

" We stayed here for a week this summer in july while attending a UVA program, and we absolutely loved it! The place was so cozy and welcoming, truly giving us a home away from home feeling. Everything in the house was thoughtfully arranged with guests in mind. The location is perfect as well, as it is close to everything you could need. They also have a really good breakfast, and the artwork throughout the house is truly amazing. I can't say enough about how kind and friendly the hosts were. They made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here, and I truly hope to come back again in the future! We absolutely loved this place! "

Happy Confession 💓
Here's today's THRIFT STORE find! Yep, it's not brand new cootie free coffee mugs. They are pre-owned recycled and in perfect condition. Ceramic hot beverage mugs with silicon lids. They can be used again and again. They are not disposable. Well, until they get broken. But check this out!

I saw I these two with this adorable logo and quote that matches our "brand" at Fairhaven "Green" Guesthouse.

1st side logo:
Smiley face that looks like the actual word "Laugh" 😄
Plus, "Laugh to Live"
printed underneath the logo.

2nd side quote:
Be》
Do》 Good
Make the world a better place.

And it has a website!
LaughtoLive.org
(Is ott active but
LaughtoLive.net is)
Still, they're cute 😍

UPDATE WEEK 64 ~
Part 2

Living with Cancer as Self-Employed Business Owners
Navigating treatments, research, and doctor’s appointments while self-employed is a unique balancing act. Without paid sick leave or co-workers to step in, managing our home, our guesthouse, and our art business alongside Raven’s care can quickly become overwhelming.

Many of you have lovingly asked how you can step in. Having concrete, hands-on help with daily tasks gives us the physical and mental space to focus entirely on Raven’s health and quality of life.

☀ Concrete Ways You Can Help Us Right Now:

- Holding Us in Love: Keeping Raven and our family in your thoughts, prayers, and healing circles.
- Nourishment & Meal Delivery: Helping with occasional home-cooked meal prep, dropping off fresh food, or having groceries or meals delivered to us through services like Instacart or DoorDash.
- Home & Yard Care: Volunteering for a turn with household chores (dishes, dusting, or deep cleaning), yard maintenance, or small property repairs.
- Business Support: Assisting with running packages to the post office, picking up P.O. Box mail, or helping with guesthouse turnover cleaning if you have housekeeping experience.
- Financial Support & Sharing: Donating directly to the gofundme campaign or simply sharing our link with others to help us cover medical bills, quality of life needs, and future travel expenses.
- Connecting: Reaching out for low-key visits, quick hellos, or simple quality time together!

🎉 Save the Date — A Celebration of Love & History!
On a wonderfully happy note: Raven is still planning his Happy Hippie Day Party on Friday, September 18th! This date marks the 30th anniversary of Raven moving to Virginia—the very move that brought him to Acorn Community, where he and I first met. We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone together with as many of you as possible.

Note on Updates: Moving forward, we hope to post updates here at least once a week (likely over the weekend, time and energy permitting) to keep everyone close to our journey.

Thank you for wrapping us in so much care, practical help, and solidarity during this time.

With so much love, 💖
Flame & Raven

UPDATE WEEK 64 ~

Navigating Treatment, Holding Hope, and How Your Support Is Helping

Dear friends and community,

I can hardly believe it's been 64 weeks since this part of vour journey started.

Raven and I wanted to pause and bring you into the loop on where things stand with Raven, how we are moving forward, and how your incredible love and generosity are holding us up right now.

First, a Heartfelt Thank You
We want to share how deeply meaningful your donations have already been. Thanks to your support, we were able to pay off a couple of higher-interest credit cards. Clearing that debt has immediately lifted a heavy weight off our shoulders and given us crucial financial breathing room while we navigate treatment choices and plan for future travel. Knowing we have this safety net while we step away from work for medical care means the world to us.

đŸ©ș The Medical Path Forward
Right now, we are in a season of holding multiple possibilities at once—balancing complex choices while staying grounded in hope, presence, and joy:

- Immunotherapy in Charlottesville: Raven is scheduled to start a proven immunotherapy treatment at Martha Jefferson. At the same time, we are exploring a promising clinical study at UVA to see if he qualifies. Both care teams agree that starting immunotherapy as soon as possible is the priority.
- Exploring Additional Options: We are looking into liver-directed therapies that could work in tandem with immunotherapy, as well as potential options in Richmond, and consulting with MD Anderson for expert guidance.
- Timing & Travel: Once immunotherapy begins, his doctors have advised him to stay close to home for about 3 months to monitor how his body responds. Depending on how he feels, this temporarily shifts our travel plans, making local connection our top priority right now.
