💦 Day Trip Idea 💦

Most visitors head straight to the Upper Falls, but the Lower Falls might be our favorite stop at Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

Cross the pedestrian bridge to the island and explore the easy loop trail, where you’ll enjoy views of the falls from multiple angles. The accessible boardwalk and island paths are roughly a half-mile round trip and make for a fun adventure for all ages.

Want an even closer look? Rowboat rentals are available seasonally, allowing you to explore the river and see the falls from the water.

Our biggest tip? Bring your swimsuit and water shoes! On warm summer days, many visitors enjoy wading near the falls and cooling off in the river. 🌊

Pack a picnic, take your time exploring the island, and plan to spend at least a couple of hours soaking in one of the U.P.’s most beautiful spots.

This view 😍 never gets old. Spring projects are underway!

-Deck staining
- New roof
- freshening up flower beds
-power washing everything
-moving firepit
-beach cleanup
-wall repair and painting
-and so much more!

But before we get caught up in this it’s important to take the break and enjoy the sunshine, beautiful weather, views, and the time with friends and family. Or… in my case my sweet Dixie girl and my two babies. 😍😍😍

Every…single…time! There’s something about visiting the Lakehouse and enjoying the island, going on cruise, exploring waterfalls, and quite frankly breathing in fresh air! Like deep inhale breath.

If you haven’t visited Northern Michigan in the summer… now is the time! August is by far my favorite month with the Great Lakes all plenty warm to swim in!

A major winter storm will take aim at our state beginning early Sunday morning and continuing through Tuesday morning. 1-3 FEET of snow is currently expected in the Upper Peninsula & far northern lower, combining with wind gusts between 30-50mph. This will create blizzard conditions, near impossible travel, and scattered power outages throughout Sunday - Tuesday.

Outside of the snow, an ice storm is also expected in northern lower Michigan during this same time. We will have our first look at ice accretion out around 5pm.

Please note, this forecast denotes our first prediction. This is a big storm system and adjustments are likely in the forthcoming updates.
