A major winter storm will take aim at our state beginning early Sunday morning and continuing through Tuesday morning. 1-3 FEET of snow is currently expected in the Upper Peninsula & far northern lower, combining with wind gusts between 30-50mph. This will create blizzard conditions, near impossible travel, and scattered power outages throughout Sunday - Tuesday.
Outside of the snow, an ice storm is also expected in northern lower Michigan during this same time. We will have our first look at ice accretion out around 5pm.
Please note, this forecast denotes our first prediction. This is a big storm system and adjustments are likely in the forthcoming updates.
