In the summer of 2017, while back in Michigan visiting family, we stumbled upon this home after three years of searching for the perfect getaway. We knew instantly the setting this home is in was one of a kind. The mature trees, calming sound of Lake Huron, majestic views of the Straights, Mackinac Bridge, and Mackinac Island provide tranquility that we fell in love with. We hope that you enjoy it

Did you know? Every Labor Day, the Mackinac Bridge closes to vehicle traffic for one morning, giving you the chance to walk the Mighty Mac.

It’s one of our favorite Northern Michigan traditions and such a fun way to wrap up summer Up North.

Island View Shores is already booked for Labor Day Weekend this year, but Labor Day Weekend 2027 is still available.

We’re just 10 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge, so you can make a weekend of it! Enjoy the lake, explore the area, and head to the Bridge Walk Monday morning.

Some of my favorite vacation memories aren’t the big adventures. It’s just simple moments. Skipping rocks, relaxing on the deck laughing at whatever games the kids made up, racing them into the water or simply floating on a much too small for me tube in Lake Huron.

I hope you get to enjoy plenty of simple moments this summer. ❤️

Most visitors head straight to the Upper Falls, but the Lower Falls might be our favorite stop at Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

Cross the pedestrian bridge to the island and explore the easy loop trail, where you’ll enjoy views of the falls from multiple angles. The accessible boardwalk and island paths are roughly a half-mile round trip and make for a fun adventure for all ages.

Want an even closer look? Rowboat rentals are available seasonally, allowing you to explore the river and see the falls from the water.

Our biggest tip? Bring your swimsuit and water shoes! On warm summer days, many visitors enjoy wading near the falls and cooling off in the river. 🌊

Pack a picnic, take your time exploring the island, and plan to spend at least a couple of hours soaking in one of the U.P.’s most beautiful spots.

This view 😍 never gets old. Spring projects are underway!
