Akeem J. Paris, father, son, brother, fiance and coworker was lost to us on May 16th to a tragic motorcycle accident. He was only 30 years old and leaves behind his son, fiance, family, friends and coworkers at Atria.
He worked at Atria full-time for the last 3+ years, but had also worked during the holidays a few years prior. When we were looking to hire a new Installer, everyone kept talking about this guy Akeem who was great during the holiday push. We gave him a call, offered him the job (he was working full-time at a less than ideal job) and he accepted. After that, every day we had the pleasure of working with Akeem.
His smile lit up the room. Everyone says that because it's true. He was always cracking jokes, making us laugh, keeping it light and working hard. One thing that I can't stop thinking about is how he would always make a comment about whether I was dressed well enough for the sales call I was going on that day. Man, he cracked me up. He cracked all of us up.
He was also always thinking on his feet. That was one of the main reasons we hired him in the first place. He had a great eye for design and style. When installing green walls or holiday decor he always had a little tweak that made it just a little bit better every time.
It took me quite some time to write this post. Mostly because it doesn't seem real. I keep expecting to see him pull up to work in the morning. That is not going to fade anytime soon. Second, out of respect to his family and friends. This is a post to honor Akeem Paris and his family. We are sending all of our love to the Paris family and friends. He will be deeply missed. We Love you Akeem.
