Rock Hall is about 20 minutes from Brampton and one of the best summer days you can have on the Eastern Shore.
A real working waterman’s town on the Chesapeake Bay, it has a sandy Bay beach, a genuine harbor, great seafood restaurants, boutique shops, and the kind of unhurried pace that the Shore is supposed to have.
We send guests there regularly.
It starts at the entrance to town, where a little shopping village with colorful cottages and a gazebo sets the mood right away. Get the Scoop is right there for ice cream before you do anything else. Cheerful, unhurried, and a perfect first impression of a town that has no interest in moving fast.
From there it’s the Hickory Stick on Main St for browsing. Right next door, Fresh Start Market for local finds. Harbor Shack on the water when you’re ready to sit down with a cold drink and watch the boats go by.
Flying Decoy Bar and Grill is the other must. Fresh, homemade food made with locally sourced ingredients by people who genuinely care about this stretch of Shore.
And then there’s Ferry Park Beach. Free parking, a white gazebo, calm Chesapeake Bay water, and almost no one else around on a weekday. Wide sky, quiet water, the bridge in the distance.
Before you go, we’ll pack you a Gourmet Picnic for Two. When you come back, a Seafood Steam Pot Dinner can be waiting on the deck. Details in our bio link.
