Well folks I hate to say it but I was wrong and everyone else was right…it’s over. I kept hoping just once the forecast would be correct and we would actually get some measurable snow, but all we got was rain and about an inch of sleet. So looks like it’s time to pack it up and call it a season. We would like to thank everyone that came out this winter, I know things haven’t been the same but we are working on that. If you know anyone that is looking for a winter job have them message us, we really need staff to go back to doing what we did. See you next winter!

Good evening, hope everyone stayed dry today. We have been watching everyone’s posts in regards to closing this weekend and we are going to be a little different and maybe a little stubborn! The last few years we have followed the pack and called it quits early and then Mother Nature throws us for a loop. So we are going to stay open and see what she has in store for us this week. Hopefully we get the predicted snow and we can keep going, if not oh well we tried. We will keep you all in the loop, think snow ❄️☃️

Update: just heard from one of the groomers and he said trails are looking good, if we can avoid “wetness” (not saying the “R” word) on saturday things should be good for a bit longer. The connectors/paths getting on and off lakes are whats getting rough so if you can overlook that you should have a beautiful ride tomorrow. Grant farm groomer wont be in until the wee hours of the morning so will update then.

Just a reminder tomorrow Friday March 6th will be our last bar day for the season. All groomers are currently out so trails should be mint for the morning ride. We will continue to be open with our regular schedule until we just cant be. Hope to see you soon.

Happy Tuesday! Just wanted to give everyone an update on our schedule. Now that school vacations are over we will be going back to our normal winter hours. Gas EVERY DAY 10am to 4pm, snacks and munchies Thursday to Sunday also 10am to 4pm. This Friday 3/6 will be the last BAR DAY for the season. Trails are holding but like everyone else we need more snow to keep grooming. Fingers crossed we get some tonight and the weekend weather prospect changes.

Bar will be open both FRIDAY and SATURDAY this weekend 11-5. Trails will be freshly groomed, and the gas tank will be full and the grill will be on so come see us while you can because who knows what Mother Nature has in store for us next week!

WOW! I am at a loss for words and those of you that know me know thats almost impossible. Today was an absolutely amazing, terrific, extraordinary day. From folks we hadn’t seen all winter to those who had never been here before it was a jam packed day, almost felt like the good ole days. I cant thank you all enough for your continued support. We have one more event already scheduled on the books for next weekend to have the bar open again so if you haven’t gotten a chance to stop in yet here is your chance. If Mother Nature is good to us we may do a few more (we are limited to 5 per season) and we will keep you posted. Again a huge THANK YOU to everyone.

UPDATE: problem solved thanks everyone.

Would there be anyone in Millinocket coming this way tomorrow that could stop at our hardware store Katahdin True Value and pick something up for us?

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out today. It was great having the bar open even if it was just for the day. We had so much fun we are going to do it again next Saturday Feb 21st, so if you missed it today makes plans to join us next week. Also seeing as its vacation week we will be open every day instead of the usual Thursday to Sunday. Have fun and stay safe everyone.

We have some great news… We have received our 501(c)3 designation which means any donation can now be tax deductible. Along with that comes a few perks one of which is we can open the bar for fundraisers, yippee. So this Saturday February 14th will be our first fundraiser for the season. Come on up and grab a cold one with us, check out the house if you haven’t been here yet, and grab a bite to eat. We look forward to seeing you all.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a great holiday season. We were really hoping that this was going to be the year for early snow but Mother Nature has had other plans. Between that and that dreaded flu we are just getting going now. SO… Thursday will be our opening day for the season. Schedule looks like last year Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, fuel only and then the clubhouse will be open the rest of the week for snacks, warmth etc. hours will be 10am to 4pm for right now. As far as trails go we are always working on them. JUST LIKE LAST YEAR THE FIRST 3 MILES OF PINE STREAM RD ARE PLOWED SO USE DEER POND TRAIL. Pray for more snow and we hope to see you soon.

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to join us for our annual feast! We couldn’t do this without all your support. Although the trails are getting thin we are still open and will continue to have fuel and snacks until it’s over. Again a heartfelt thanks to all of you out there.

The Chesuncook Lake House

A small Wilderness Lodge, built as a farmhouse/boarding house in 1864 at Chesuncook Village, to supply logging operations in Northern Maine's Wilderness, now on the Federal Historical Register. The Lake House is located 50 miles north of the Moosehead Lake Region, and 60 miles west of Millinocket, situated in the center of the last recognized wilderness area in the East.

The Lake House has been featured by numerous magazines as a "very unique and special place" (Yankee, Down East, Boston Globe, New York Times, etc.). Yankee Magazine selected the Chesuncook Lake House as the "Editors Pick of Outstanding Places in New England".

We strongly recommend that you arrive by float plane, your boat or snowmobile. Overlooking Mt. Katahdin across the lake, the Lake House is a warm and welcoming site to our guests and visitors, an oasis in the wild.
