News release from the Governor's office:
Governor Evers approves Lake Chetek Bridge rehabilitation project

Structure to remain open to single lane of traffic; motorists should expect delays



To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $2.39 million contract with prime contractor Lunda Construction Co. of Black River Falls for a rehabilitation project on the bridge carrying County D over Lake Chetek in the Barron County city of Chetek. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, Aug. 3.

Built in 1973, the bridge needs maintenance. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) project is:

Placing a 1.5-inch concrete overlay over the bridge deck
Repairing the concrete sidewalk, bridge piers and parapet
Making joint repairs
Cleaning drainage grates
Painting bridge girders
Milling 2 inches of the existing asphalt pavement on either side of the structure and paving 2 inches of hot-mix asphalt over the roadway
Replacing curb, gutter and sidewalk
Restoring the landscape around the construction site

During construction, the bridge will remain open to a single lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals. Motorists should expect travel delays.

Construction is scheduled for completion in late October.

I have 6 seasonal sites available for next summer. The 6 available sites are not waterfront sites. 15/30/50 amp metered electric. Water included. No sewer. You have your own slide under tank that gets pumped weekly for a small fee if needed. No scheduling necessary.

Pokegama Creek Campground sets on Ojaski(Mud) Lake. Ojaski is part of a six chain of lakes. All accessible by boat as they flow into one another. Home to a variety of bars/restaurants on the water, lots of live entertainment all summer long. 2 beautiful golf courses on the edges of Chetek. Shops, Fish-o-Rama, water ski shows, SxS trails every direction your heart desires and so much to do for every enthusiast.

At Pokegama Creek Campground, we have a dock spot if you want one. We have 26 permanent spots, where everyone has a short walk to their boat or docks to fish off of. We have a small beer bar on site with occasional live music too.
