Review Score at the end!

The date is Thursday, July 10th! We are heading to Tulsa to see our favorite rock band, Candlebox! It just so happens that they are playing Paradise Cove at River Spirit!

I have to confess, we have stayed at this hotel around 10 times, but we have never done a professional review of it! So, here we go!

If you plan on staying at River Spirit, you must call a few weeks in advance to secure a room! If you don’t do that you’ll likely find yourself staying somewhere else!

The staff in their call center for booking is incredible, and they are extremely patient people! We had called early and gotten a 2 queen bed suite, but continued to call to see if they had any other openings above the pool area! They weren’t the least bit unfriendly and answered our questions politely, even if we called a lot!

Upon our arrival, we went directly to Jimmy Buffets located near the casino floor. We go there to enjoy the nachos and a couple of drinks. The prices at Jimmy’s can vary, but it isn’t unlike similar places like Toby Keith’s, Saltgrass, Texas Roadhouse etc… Your app will be $10 to $20+ depending upon what you order, and the meals will be $15 to $30! As mentioned before, we had the Volcano Nachos ($18.99) and 2 beers ($4.90) for $38.00 after tip! Not bad because the nachos are huge! The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating also!

Next up for us it was to hit the casino floor for a while to play some games. The River Spirit gaming floor is 180,000sq ft of gambling! Now, half of that is supposed to be non-smoking and the other half smoking, but we found that a lot of the players from the smoking side came to the non-smoking side with ashtrays and smokes in hand! Not ideal, and annoying as you can imagine, but not a deal breaker for us! They have all the table games and one-armed bandits you could ever need! Wait times on the tables can get long, but get there early and you skip the wait!

After playing games we decided it was time to go to our show in Paradise Cove! Paradise Cove is a 2700 seat amphitheater located near the casino gaming area. It is an absolutely fantastic place to watch a show. The security check to get in is thorough, kind, and easy to deal with. Upon entry into the venue you will notice it is clean and very open! It is easy to see from all seat locations, and the ushers are friendly and helpful! You might find yourself thirsty or in need of a snack, and they have it. Prices at the bar are actually really good. Most well cocktails under $10 and beers around $8 to $9. We watched our show and headed out to hit the casino for another round of fun.

This time we went to a 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar! It is always a blast. I can’t remember who was playing there that night, but it was fun! We had drinks, sang along, and danced to songs the band was performing and that was a blast! The prices here are similar to the prices at Jimmy Buffets!

We didn’t hit it this time, but River Spirit has a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse! It is absolutely amazing! This is not for anyone looking to get a great meal at a cheap price. This place is normally $100 per person if you order an app, a steak, drinks & a desert! The last time we were there, my wife and I spent around $350 total for our meal. I don’t regret it at all, and if you go to River Spirit I highly suggest eating here! Make sure you get a reservation in advance!

We finished dancing and headed to the room for rest. Why? Because the next morning we were headed to the secret “Gem” at River Spirit Casino, THE POOL! It is like you aren’t in the midwest anymore! Swim up bar, cabana’s to rent, purely smooth water spouts shooting water into the pool! In water platforms for laying in a lounger while your hands and feet can touch the water! Amazing! We didn’t rent a cabana because they were all sold out! However, we did hit the swim up bar for most of the afternoon, and we enjoyed it to the fullest! Drinks there are similarly priced to every other establishment, minus Ruth’s, but we found our bill to be slightly more expensive because we tipped better outside! Hmm!

All in all, what a fantastic experience! So much fun to be had just 2 hours from home! I would do it once a month if we could afford it, but that just can’t happen! :) We really do love this place, and recommend it to all who have never been! Thanks for a great experience!

Simple Lessons Review Score = 9/10

It would have been 10/10, but checking in can be cumbersome, the smoking section invading the non-smoking section is annoying, and the outside bar needs to be BIGGER!

Sincerely,
Simple Lessons Resort & Property Review!
