On February 21, 2026 at 23:11 hours officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Burlington Ave. & Franklin Street which resulted in an arrest of a 24yr old male for FAILURE TO SURRENDER CDS TO LAW ENFC OFFICAL, POSS OF LARGE CAPACITY AMMO MAGAZINE, POSS OF PENETRATING BULLETS, POSSESSION OF CDS CO***NE, PURCHASE OF FI****MS PARTS TO MANUFACTURE UNTRACEABLE FI****MS, UNLAWFUL POSS OF HANDGUN, USE/POSSESSION/W INTENT TO USE DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. This subject was transported to the Burlington County Jail and then turned over to Department of Homeland Security.

With profound sadness, the New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police mourns the passing of Chaplain Jim McGuire.

Chaplain McGuire was a pillar of our organization and the law enforcement community. Elected Chaplain of the NJ State FOP Lodge in September 2020, he devoted more than five decades to the Fraternal Order of Police, having been a proud member since 1973. He honorably served the Jersey City Police Department for 33 years, retiring as a Lieutenant after a career marked by meritorious service.

His commitment to the FOP was unwavering—serving as Treasurer of Jersey City Lodge #4 for 14 years and holding numerous State FOP committee roles, including long-standing service on Ways & Means, Tactical North, and Tactical Central Committees. Beyond the FOP, Chaplain McGuire was a dedicated leader within the Honor Legion of the Police Departments of the State of New Jersey, including a decade as Chairman of the Awards Committee.

Chaplain McGuire’s legacy is one of faith, service, leadership, and compassion. He will be deeply missed, but his impact will never be forgotten.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the honor of serving alongside him.

Rest in peace, Chaplain McGuire. Your watch is complete. 🕊️💙
