A couple checked in recently and told us something that stuck with us: they saw one of our posts and knew immediately, this was the getaway they’d been trying to plan for months.

This place wasn’t designed for everyone. It was designed for two people who need real time together, the kind that turns into a memory, instead of just another weekend. No noise, no agenda, nothing to plan around but each other.

Craig and Becky Backus didn’t build The Park Hotel for everyone. They created nine rooms that invite you to relax, keeping the original details from the building first life intact. Just enough distance from Sedona crowds to remember what a weekend away is supposed to feel like.

It’s a place you won’t want to leave. But if you do, Historic Main Street is around the block, Old Town Cottonwood is five minutes down the road, and Jerome is fifteen minutes up the mountain, for whenever you’re ready to be around people again.

The Newstand Cafe & Bar is officially open on Main Street and it was worth the wait!

This building has been a Clarkdale staple since 1912, and the team behind it kept that history front and center… exposed brick, thoughtful details, even themed bathrooms. Three levels including a rooftop bar, hand-crafted cocktails, flatbread pizza, salads, and sandwiches.

If the history and character of our building is part of what brought you here, The Newstand is going to feel very familiar. It’s right down the street from your room… no taxi required!

Anyone can hang a pretty photo and call it a room. We got a little more obsessive than that.

Copper sinks in the bathrooms. A vintage hand mirror that makes you slow down for a second before you walk out the door.

Real glass, because wine tastes better when it’s not in plastic. Ceramic mugs to make you feel more at home, and bottled water waiting for you because staying hydrated shouldn’t be a perk you have to pay extra for. Ice in the freezer to cool off your drink of choice.

A beer card waiting at check-in, since you’re staying right above a brewery.

Black-out masks and a white noise machine for the nights you actually want to sleep in. Coffee and treats are waiting in the lobby, and so are the lawn chairs, in case you’d rather enjoy them at Town Park, just across the street.

These are the details you don’t ask for, but you notice when they’re there.

There are not many places where you can soak in a clawfoot tub after a day of hiking the Verde Valley, then walk downstairs for a cold beer or glass of wine, without ever getting in your car.
