We operate a fleet of US Coast Guard inspected jet boats under (3) separate US Forest Service special use permit's in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and 2 Speci

al Use Permits on the Clearwater River. We own 2 facilities on the Snake River to serve you, our event venue Heller Bar Lodge located at the confluence of the Snake and Grande Ronde Rivers, and our remote overnight wilderness camp including a main lodge and 23 private cabins- Copper Creek Lodge is only accessible by boat and is located in the Wallowa Whitman National Forest.

"Bloom Where You're Planted" this famous maxim is widely credited to Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622) the Catholic Bishop of Geneva Switzerland. The phrase encapsulates his belief to find purpose in your current state rather than wishing for different circumstances. Today we're unraveling the mystery of "Deery" one clue at a time with friend and fellow outfitter Grant Ritchie, Minam Store Outfitters. Many years ago, we're given a picture of Billy Rankin with his pet deer, who homesteaded and mined copper at the turn of the century at what is now known our Copper Creek Lodge. Recently, Grant reached out to let us know his great-great grandfather "Dad" Wilson, ran cattle at Somers Creek and purchased the Somers Creek ranch from Frank Somers and provided two images of the Wilson family pet deer "deery". The distance between Copper Creek Lodge and Somers Creek is about 5 miles.
It is possible Billy Rankin's pet deer was also Dad Wilson's pet deer? Yes!
Is it possible the image of Billy Rankin is really Dad Wilson? Yes!

We did a half day tour with Beamers and can't recommend them enough. The water was rough and I do mean ROUGH when we first took off and the captain was absolutely incredible at what he does. He handled the boat like an absolute pro and made the day amazing. Thankfully the water smoothed out as soon as we rounded the first bend and the rest of the day was absolutely perfect! Loved hearing so much history about our beautiful home area that we did not know. If you're going to do a boat tour of Hell's Canyon, go with the OG, Beamer's Hell's Canyon Tours, you will LOVE them
