Horsehead Lake Recreation Area Clarksville, AR Lake Horsehead is a hidden gem nestled away in the middle of the Ozark forest with lots to offer. Pr Horsehead Lake offers several amenities to its visitors.

Managed cooperatively by the US Forest Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, it provides a developed camping area, restroom facilities with showers, a playground, and picnic area, most of which are fully accessible. There is primitive camping and a boat launch across the lake from the developed campground, offered by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. There is a 'no wake' limitati

on on the lake so visitors are encouraged to operate smaller motors or trolling motors while enjoying their day of boating and fishing.

Current Conditions: Open for the season. No reservations. Sites available on a first-come/first-based only. Swimming is allowed at Horsehead Lake, but be aware that you are swimming at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty nor are water samples tested. The recreation area closes seasonally.

Fees Campground - $15/site/day Day Use - $3/vehicle/day year round. Current forest recreation schedule and fees
