Thousand Islands Inn

Thousand Islands Inn Historic landmark under renovation, we will be a boutique hotel with upscale casual dining, & sing-along piano bar in the Thousand Islands, Clayton, NY.

Under new ownership as of December 2013, the Thousand Islands Inn was built in 1897 and is the oldest continually operated Golden Age hotel in the Thousand Islands. Located on Riverside Drive in Clayton, NY, the cultural center of this truly stunning region, the Inn has 13 spacious guest rooms, a restaurant, and bar. Your hosts are Brad Minnick, a native of Clayton and former diplomat, and his par

tner Jaime Weinberg, an attorney who fell in love with the Thousand Islands and the Saint Lawrence River, though he never thought he could live away from the ocean. Brad and Jaime are braving the North Country winter updating, enhancing, and revitalizing the Inn to give you a well-appointed boutique hotel, a casual upscale dining experience, and a fun and lively piano bar. You will be treated to impeccable hospitality and a delightful atmosphere. We look forward to making the "TI Inn" your Thousand Islands vacation destination, and to giving you the time of your life!

After heavy-hearted consideration, we have decided to postpone indefinitely this year's annual public reading of the Declaration of Independence that would have been at noon on July 4th. Between the ongoing construction in Clayton, the need to socially distance amid the pandemic, and aggravated political sensitivities, we thought this decision prudent.

So, instead, I urge you to read the Declaration and the Constitution for yourself. Some of it is hard stuff, worded in a way that seems out of touch with current sensibilities. But the core of it is this:

Every single one of us is endowed by our creator, whether that be God or the forces of nature, with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The aspiration of our country, is to preserve and advance those rights, not just for the founders, but for their posterity ... and our government is structured under our Constitution for the purpose. If we are no longer vectoring in the direction of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, for everyone, then we have a problem.

As for me, on July 4th at noon, I will be at home praying (not singing) that God bless America, the land that I love, and that God will stand beside her and guide her through the night with a light from above.

This is just a heads-up that we do still intend to do our Seventh Annual (!) July 4th public reading of the Declaration of Independence, on July 4th at noon, at the Inn.

We will have to play it a little by ear and are looking for guidance and help from the state, in light of Covid restrictions, as well as the state of construction of downtown Clayton. Right now, there are enormous concrete structures on the sidewalk in front of the building where you would be standing.

If you are interested in reading or attending, please watch this space for further information!

Now, more than ever, it is important for us all to come together and remember where we come from and how we started.
