After much consideration and money spent on getting this house ready and 2 years of our lives and our friends and families time, we have decided to sell the house. It is really hard for me as I really love everything about this house.
But as we get older and go through lifes journey, we have realized life is to short and we need to slow down and live a simpler life. I'm sorry for anyone who was getting excited about staying here, as I was also.😊 But we believe this is the best choice for us and taking a new path. So if anyone is looking for a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom with all original woodwork and a double decker front porch viewing the Turkey River, this is the house for you.!
I did donate a gift certificate for a 2 night stay that we will be refunding the money that was spent for that, for anyone who was wondering about it. Thanks to everyone for liking this page.

Floors are done! Now we can add cabinets, trim, furniture ect. We still have alot to do but we are moving forward.

Here's a sneak peak at the natural wood floors being exposed. I can't believe the beautiful wood they found under layers of linoleum in the kitchen what looks like tar paper. Plus here's a before and after photo of a wall Larry and I did using old wood house siding.

Yay the floors are getting started. They will be all sanded down to natural and clear coated. The dining and living room have diagonal laid pin oak 1" slats and the rest of the house is all heart pine. I was told it is what all the flooring/deck on the USS IOWA Battleship in California is made of. It will be beautiful.

We are getting closer to finishing this house. We have hired Silver Creek Hardwood Floors to refinish all the floors in the house to their original glory. I am so excited about this, I can't wait to see the end result. We are hoping they will be finished by the end of May so we can have 1 month to install everything a home will need, as it is totally empty right now. We will be busting our butts to get this finished and be able to rent it out for July 4th weekend.

Coming soon! Hoping to be open for business in May 2019. Located at 501 Union st. Clermont IA is..... Smith's River Roost..where life is better on the river. Just a short walk to the boat/canoe/kayak access ramp and a front row view on a double front porch of the beautiful Turkey River. Enjoy boating ,fishing, hiking, swimming or just relaxing on the front porch swing of a fully furnished 4 bedroom 2 bathroom 1924 craftsman style home.
Currently is in the remodel process but stay posted for the opening dates and finished photos. My husband Larry Smith and myself Tracey Smith are the owners and excited about our new adventure.
