What an incredible weekend celebrating J & B! 🤍

We were so honored to host their entire wedding weekend, from Friday’s rehearsal and dinner, to a beautiful Saturday ceremony and reception, all the way through Sunday brunch.

After the ceremony on saturday, guests enjoyed cocktails, Jar-cuterie's, and appetizers under the tent while Hightower Entertainment DJ Service kept the music going. 🎶 Then it was inside for a delicious reception dinner before heading back outside to get the dance floor pumping and the cold b**r from Tribute Brewing Co. flowing behind the bar! 🍺💃

Add in great food, specialty cocktails, plenty of laughs, a fire to end the night, and Sunday morning Bloody Mary's, and we’d say it was one heck of a weekend.

Thank you, J & B, for trusting us with such a special weekend. We loved being part of it! 🤍

We’re definitely getting the hang of this wedding thing… and we can’t wait for more.

This past weekend, we had the incredible honor of welcoming back the Golf 2/5 Marines for their reunion, and I truly couldn’t be more grateful.

This was their second reunion with us, and this year, even more Marines traveled from across the country to come together, reconnect, share stories, raise a few glasses, and celebrate the bond they share. I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, and I absolutely loved every minute of hosting this group.

This was one of the weekends I had been looking forward to most all summer, and it was even more meaningful than I could have imagined. A huge thank-you to everyone who came out and helped make the weekend possible. It was truly an honor to be a small part of such a special reunion.

Seven years of owning Highland Lodge. 🤍

It’s hard to believe it has already been seven years. When I look back, I see so much work, change, growth, and learning. Year after year, we’ve poured ourselves into this place, updating, remodeling, improving, making mistakes, learning from them, and continuing to move forward.

Owning a small business is not for the faint of heart. There have been plenty of hard days, long nights, tears, lessons, and moments where I’ve had to take a deep breath and keep going.

But then I think about all the good.

Over the years, we’ve had the honor of welcoming guests from all over the country and even around the world. We’ve watched families gather, couples celebrate wedding weekends and rehearsal dinners, and loved ones come together for bridal showers, baby showers, family reunions, holiday dinners, and quiet little moments that have filled this lodge with life. Stepping into micro-weddings and private events has been a wild, beautiful ride, and having people choose Highland Lodge for some of their most meaningful memories is something I will never take lightly.

One of the community connections I’m most thankful for is our relationship with The Castle Vineyard. Being able to work alongside the Castle Vineyard team and help create a full wedding-weekend experience for couples and families coming in from all over the country is something we truly love and appreciate. It has brought so many wonderful people through our doors, and we’re thankful to be even a small part of those celebrations.

Along with that, I also love pointing our guests toward the other small-town businesses that make this area so special: Rupp's Supperclub for a great steak dinner, Hika Bay Tavern for a nightcap, The Smiling Moose Saloon & Grill, LLC - Moose on the Loose Catering for wing night, great music, or a fun band, and even Bondes Quik Mart for some fried chicken or a road-trip snack. These are places I truly love, places I frequent myself, and places that help make this little corner of Wisconsin feel like home.

Highland Lodge may be small, but I’ve always believed small businesses can still make a meaningful difference. I try to encourage the guests who support us to also support the other small businesses in our community. There is so much beauty and goodness in these tucked-away places if you’re willing to see it, and at the end of the day, community is built by the people willing to show up for one another.

Highland Lodge is more than just a business to me. It is my home, my work, and a place I have had the privilege of watching grow over the past 7 years.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, stayed with us, celebrated with us, and believed in what we are building here.

Cheers to seven years of Highland Lodge and to continuing to grow, learn, and create something special. 🤍

✨ Good things really do come to those who wait. ✨

Ever since I bought the Lodge, I have always dreamed of replacing the tiny dining room-sized chandelier in our main space with a large statement piece that truly fits the room. The space has always called for something grand, beautiful, and special, but for years, I just couldn’t quite pull the trigger.

I scoured the internet more times than I can count, and while I probably could have spent thousands on a brand-new chandelier, there was always something else that needed attention first. That’s the thing about running this place: there is always another project, another repair, another “maybe next year.”

But after seven years of waiting, patience proved to be a virtue.

We recently found the most beautiful statement piece chandelier, and it could not be more perfect for Highland Lodge. A very special thank you to The Blind Horse Restaurant & Winery for the chandelier; it truly feels like it was meant for the great room, and I am so happy it found its way here!

This chandelier has been a long time coming, and seeing it finally hanging in the great room is such a special moment for me. It’s one of those little reminders that sometimes the best things don’t happen right away… but when they do, they are worth the wait.

And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who helped wrestle this beauty into place. Thank you, fam, and especially Dan Kaderabek . We could not have done it without you. ❤️
