Andrea and Sha’Ray are Student Associates from St. Martin de Porres High School and they have been supporting the Adventure Lab for the last few months! Their hard work, dedication, and willingness to learn has been a huge asset for the Lab and its students. 🧪

Today they gave their final presentation, featuring their biggest take aways, challenges and how they were overcome, and creative poems describing their time in the Lab. Thank you for all your hard work this semester Andrea and Sha'Ray!

Urban Community School is at the Adventure Lab this morning participating in our wood working program! After first learning about tool safety and technical skills, these students got to work cutting, sanding and assembling their very own bluebird houses. 🐦🏠

Partnering with Olon USA, the Adventure Lab is excited to present a Special Chemistry Badge Lab! This two part special Badge Lab brings you on a behind-the scenes-tour and seeing Chemistry in real action! Talk with Chemists and Engineers and gain a hands-on understanding of how Chemistry is used.

Then back at the Adventure Lab create experiments led by Olon employees and put your knowledge to use!

Chemistry explores how substances react with each other, how they change, how certain forces connect molecules, and how molecules are made are all parts of chemistry. Stretch your imagination to envision molecules that cannot be seen - but can be proven to exist - and you become a chemist. With adequate and complete work at home before or after and active, on-task participation during the session, Scouts can expect to complete the Chemistry Merit Badge.

Meet one of our Badge Lab Instructors: Jared Bartley! 🌟

Jared is currently the Deputy Director for Education & Watersheds at Cuyahoga Soul & Water Conservation District, where he has worked for 19 years. Through this role he has participated in Emergency Preparedness activities as a Certified Floodplain Manager and participating in the development of Cuyahoga County's All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. He is the Committee Chair for Troop 380 in Maple Heights and is a proud member of the C4-440-16 Antelope Patrol - Horns Up, Hooves Down!

Join us at the Adventure Lab as we explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through our Nova program! This program provides students opportunities to learn through experiments, research, and creation within STEM. Each day of camp will focus on a different STEM topic, where students will conduct a minimum of 3 experiments, learn about key concepts in each field and have discussions with field experts.

The STEM Nova Summer Camp fee includes a lunch each day of camp, a swag bag and a completed experiment to take home!

Scouts attending the STEM Nova Camp can earn credit towards their Nova and Supernova awards, getting them many steps closer to achieving the elusive Albert Einstein Award.

There are three chances this Summer to attend a STEM Nova Camp:
*Camp 1: June 15th- June 18th (NO camp on June 19th- Can attend a 5th day either on July 10th or August 7th)
Camp 2: July 6th-10th
Camp 3: August 3rd-7th
