Before you extend your slides or get comfortable, make sure your RV is level.

Your refrigerator, doors, and sleep will all appreciate it! Proper leveling isn't
just about comfort - it's about safety, functionality, and protecting your investment.

ATTENTION GUESTS! Please see the update from White County Public Safety regarding the impending weather.

This storm has the potential to produce some severe storms with very heavy wind gusts. Everyone needs to make sure that they have their awnings rolled in, secure any loose belongings, take pets to go potty before the worst of the weather is expected to hit, ensure that you are aware of the emergency shelter locations, and prepare for the potential loss of power.

⚠️ 𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗜𝗔𝗦 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 - Isaias is now a hurricane, and White County is expected to experience heavy rain, strong winds and the potential for tornadoes. Governor Brian Kemp has issued a State of Emergency for the State of Georgia in preparation for the storm.

Impacts are expected to begin around 3AM Saturday, October 10, and continue through Saturday evening, with the greatest impacts later Saturday morning. Hazardous conditions could last 18-24 hours, with wind gusts of 40-50 mph possible, especially at higher elevations.

White County Emergency Management remains on high alert, monitoring the storm and evaluating potential local impacts. Public safety personnel stand ready to respond and continue coordinating with our National Weather Service partners for the latest, most accurate information.

Stay at Leisure Acres and you're just a short drive from some of North Georgia's favorite w**eries. Spend the afternoon sampling local w**es, taking in the mountain views, and enjoying the fall colors. Then head back to your RV and relax.

No long drive home. No rush. Just a good day in the mountains.

We're back with another Travel Tip Tuesday!

Not every stop has to be a destination.

🌄 Pull over for the scenic overlook.
🍔 Try the local diner.
🏞️ Take the back road once in a while.
☕ Stop for coffee in a town you would've otherwise driven right through.
🌅 Give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy the view.

One important RV reminder: If your rig is over 40', you may want to think twice before taking that scenic shortcut. Narrow roads, low clearances, tight turns, and dead ends are a lot less charming when you're trying to maneuver a big rig!

The best part? You don't have to plan every minute of the journey. Some of the best RV memories aren't planned—they're discovered.

Fall just hits different in North Georgia.

One day you're driving through mountains covered in fall color. The next you're picking apples, wandering through a pumpkin patch, tasting w**e at a local vineyard, or spending the day in Helen enjoying Oktoberfest.

The best part - You don't have to rush. Stay at Leisure Acres and you're close to all the fun, then you can come back to a quiet campsite and relax before doing it all again tomorrow.

Meet Sonya Sloan, one of the friendly faces at the Leisure Acres front desk since March 2024.

Sonya’s favorite thing about Leisure Acres? Hearing guests talk about how clean, quiet and well-kept the park is. And when they ask for a hidden gem, she always points them toward the walking trail that winds down to the lake.

When she’s not at the front desk, you’ll find Sonya spending time with family, sewing, painting, working in the yard or keeping up with her assortment of pets.

We’re glad to have Sonya as part of the Leisure Acres crew!

Summer sure went by fast... even if the temperatures haven't gotten the memo!
A big thank you to everyone who stayed with us this summer. We’re glad you made Leisure Acres part of your travels.
The pool is officially closed for the season and will reopen next May. But we’re not too sad about it, fall might just be our favorite time around here.
Cooler days, changing leaves and a good spot to slow down for a while. Come see us soon!

Travel Tip Tuesday!

When you arrive, slow down and take a moment. Rushing the process rarely ends up like we hoped.

Take a walk around your site before parking, especially if your site is a back-in. Look for low branches, utility hookups, picnic tables, and anything else that might surprise you.

A few extra minutes can save a lot of frustration and give the spectators less of a show. Lol.
