Hard at work preparing the site for our new piece of art. It's going to be a while, but we need to be ready for it.

We are prepping the front yard for a new art piece to be installed in the next few weeks. It is turning out to be a big challenge!
There was a tree that had been cut down before we got the property. It was a Yew tree.
Yews are the type of wood they make archery bows out of.
But by the time we got it it was essentially an overgrown yew bush.
So now it's time to take it out, and what we discovered was that it was a special kind, which has purple wood.
We will be making something out of the stump, like a table or something that will look really cool because it'll have purple wood.
And soon we'll have a nice piece of art to go in it's place.

With the house next door being knocked down, we are putting up a new fence in spring. We have a temporary fence, with one piece of the new fence in place.

It's been abandoned for 10 years, sitting next to our place of sanctuary and peace. We liked to call it a Scooby Doo house, because although it was dilapidated, it wasn't very scary. But it's coming down this week.
