I live here in timeless yet casual, eclectic style with Henry a loving rescue dog and Wesley the cat. Personality and character dominate, great breakfasts and a walk-able foodie and brewery neighborhood. Nice place, lived in, not the Ritz, but a cross between European and old family home I'm told. Artisan, urban area, fun, rough around the edges in parts, not sterile B&B! $138-$238/nt, weekly rates too.

Jonathan and Dez were in town from Louisville, Kentucky, for the Ella Mai performance at Jacob's Pavillion. The venue is a half mile from here; they Ubered there and walked home.

Kimberly flew here from Gainesville, Florida, for the Todd Rungren Todd Rundgren concert at the Agora. The Agora . She was originally from Copley, Ohio, so the area was somewhat familiar.

A side note, I was a junior high art teacher in Copley in 1974!

She stopped at the West Side Market to pick up some items for her visit with relatives before flying home.

Henry's most fun day of the summer! Cynthia took us to the dog beach Cleveland Metroparks with her dog and Henry's bff, Ivy. The dog beach is two miles from home on Lake Erie. We had hot dogs after a run along the shore.

Henry wouldn't get into Cindy's car at first, so I got in the back seat with Ivy. Then, Cindy's coxed him into the front passenger seat with her. Henry feels safe around Cindy...and....as long as I'm in the car too.... all was fine.

We hadn't been to the dog beach this year as it was either too cold, rainy, or hot all year.

For about nine years running, Fabien and James have stopped by in August on their road trips around the US and Canada going back to New York, actually back to Boston this time. We missed the one year during covid.

From London with another base in NYC, they publish their on line fashion, music, celebrity magazine, HERO MAGAZINE . The back roads break up their business/pleasure trips.

I look forward to their return each year even though, as we both say, it signals the pending end of summer.... but it is one highlight of the end of summer.

Stocking up on cage-free eggs, Greek Yogurt, and peanut butter with Mary at Irene Dever Dairy at the West Side Market . My favorite breakfast when home alone, not cooking a full breakfast for the guests, is peanut butter toast and orange juice.

Friends Theresa and Bonnie came from Buffalo for the Foo Fighters concert last Monday. They took Uber or Lyft to Barley House for starters and walked the rest of the way to Huntington Bank Field . (Photo was a selfie they texted to me.)

Holli and Val from the state of Oregon toured baseball stadiums in the eastern USA: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, etc. They walked to and from the Guardians game ...a half hour scenic walk across the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge... it took a few minutes longer stopping to take photos. They walked past the West Side Market and were amazed at the food offerings.

All in all a good time including their conversations with the other guests over breakfast each morning.
