Hey Frank Hughes Fans🦁🦁🦁
I’ve ordered stickers and magnets of the colorized version and will be selling these as a fund raiser for Frank Hughes School with all proceeds going to our kids🦁🦁🦁
I pulled the original from the city website and ran it through ChatGPT twice, once in black & white and then in color. I love how they turned out♥️♥️♥️
You can pre-order here or purchase at the FHS History Event September 26th. 🦁🦁🦁
Stickers $2
Magnets $4

FHS ALUMNI - Time to raid the attic, flip through those photo albums, and dust off the old shoeboxes!

The Clifton Historical Society is hard at work on Cliftons next event, and we hope you can help us in the planning.

We’ll be commemorating the 1986 Frank Hughes Lady Lions State Championship Team while also honoring 120 years of Frank Hughes School.

We’re looking for team photos, newspaper clippings, game programs, trophies, yearbooks, old school pictures, and any other FHS treasures you might have tucked away.

If you’ve got a piece of Frank Hughes history, we’d love to borrow it (or scan it and return it). We’re honored to help preserve the stories and memories that have made Frank Hughes School such a special part of Clifton for 120 years!
Stay tuned for details 🦁

Tonight was an evening we’ll remember for a long time. Listening to the stories about the “day the dam broke” was fascinating, especially hearing them from the people who actually lived through it.

One of the things we admire most about Clifton is the way so many of you have stayed connected, not just to your families, but to the stories, friendships, and history that make this town what it is. That’s becoming increasingly rare, and it’s something to treasure.

As folks who came to Clifton later in life, we didn’t grow up with these memories or roots, so getting to hear your stories and be welcomed into your community is a gift. We’re thankful to be part of Clifton, and we hope to help preserve and celebrate the history that makes this town so special!

Meet me at the Masonic Hall tomorrow, Thursday July 23rd, at 6 pm.

I did some digging yesterday at the Savannah Courier. In the edition dated March 22, 1973, I found this little reference to the Dam hoax.
What I hadn’t realized is that there was indeed a very serious flood happening at that time and the people of Clifton were already in a state of high alert! Thursday should be an interesting event and a great opportunity for those of us who weren’t here at the time to learn a bit more about Clifton’s history first hand!

It’s almost time!
