🏈🎂 Good friends, college football, and a birthday celebration—what a great weekend at Red Canoe Lodge!

We loved hosting this group at Murt’s Lodge as they enjoyed some tailgating and cheered on their favorite college teams. They were wonderful guests and left everything in great shape!

❤️ This is what Red Canoe Lodge is all about.

This past weekend, we had three different groups of guests staying with us. They came separately, didn’t know each other, and were simply looking for a place to get away and relax.

But something pretty special happened.

Before the weekend was over, they had all become friends. They spent time together, went out on one of the guests’ boats, laughed, relaxed, and enjoyed Lake Whitney together.

Then Sunday evening, Shana and I got a text asking if we wanted to come eat with them. They had all gotten together and were doing a crab boil and sharing dinner.

That was pretty cool for us to see.

Three groups of strangers showed up for a weekend getaway and left with new friends and some great memories.

That’s what we hoped Red Canoe Lodge would become.

We’re not just a place to spend the night. We’re a place to slow down, sit around the table, enjoy the lake, meet good people, and make memories that can last a lifetime.

Come as guests. Leave with memories — and maybe even a few new friends. ❤️🛶

Looking for a family or friends get away for Labor Day weekend come and stay in the Red Canoe Lodge enjoy beautiful Lake Whitney, swimming pool, Hot Tub outdoor kitchen’s and much more. Murts Lodge, Sleeps 12 with 9 beds 2 1/2 baths .
