There are moments that remind us just how fortunate we are to be surrounded by some SERIOUSLY INCREDIBLE PEOPLE!
On behalf of everyone at Blackhawk Lake Recreation Area, we want to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Highland Fire Department, Highland EMS, Cobb First Response, Cobb Fire Department, deputies from the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, the UW Med Flight crews, the Wisconsin DNR, the Iowa County Drone Team, the Iowa County Tech Rescue Team, Iowa County Emergency Management and every department and individual beyond who answers the call when someone is in need.
Time and time again, we have witnessed these dedicated individuals arrive within minutes, bringing not only their training and expertise, but also compassion, reassurance, and hope during scary and uncertain times.
Their willingness to drop everything, day or night, to serve complete strangers is something that can never be taken for granted. Because of their commitment, our visitors, campers, and staff know they are never alone when the unexpected happens.
To each and every one of you... thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication in serving not only our communities, but also our little corner of the world and the countless campers, anglers, hikers, families, and visitors that find their way to us each year. We are incredibly grateful for all that you do, and we are proud to have such amazing people serving our area.
Please join us in thanking these everyday heroes who selflessly answer the call, often without recognition, simply because it's what they do. They are truly amazing!
