This Saturday around The Hills. Here's the plan for 10/24, in order:

12โ€“5 PM ยท Friends of the Shawnee Forest Celebration at Alto Vineyards. Swamp Tigers take the main stage 2โ€“5. Tickets at the door, and every ticket supports the Shawnee National Forest.

12 PM ยท Carbondale Halloween kicks off with the Candy Walk, then the Pumpkin Race at 2 and the final night of the Pumpkin Glow at 5:30.

4 PM sharp ยท Thrill the World at Main & 4th in Carbondale. A worldwide Thriller dance. Yes, really.

3โ€“6 PM ยท Ethan Stephenson live at Feather Hills Vineyard & W**ery, right next door to the cabins, then you end the night back at the cabin relaxing in your private hot tub.

Bluffs that drop straight into a lake. 20 minutes from your cabin. ๐Ÿ‚

Cove Hollow Trail runs along the sandstone bluffs above Cedar Lake. Expect rock shelters, a slot through the cliff face and big lake views.

Itโ€™s 3.3 miles one way. Walk as far as you want, then turn around and head back.

Whatโ€™s your turnaround rule: time, snacks, or the best view?
