The Masons that make up the Grand Lodge of New York are responsible for some truly amazing things. One such thing is the Masonic Care Community of New York located in Utica. The Trustees of the Masonic Hall and Asylum Fund were created by an act of the New York State Legislature in April of 1864. This group is entrusted with the maintenance and protection of various assets of the New York State Masonic Fraternity. Originally founded as the “Masonic Home” in May of 1893. This has since grown into the Masonic Care Community and is home to many, Masons and non-Masons alike. The MCC leads the way in eldercare and is the crown jewel of our Grand Lodge. The black and white photo is of "The Castle" the former main building of the Masonic Home. This was demolished several decades ago to make way for the expanded and modernized grounds of the MCC that are there to this day and growing!
