As we approach Independence day, we need to give thanks to our military (past and present) that sacrificed for our freedom and independence! Enjoy your time with family and friends on the lake or otherwise, while remembering with gratitude those that are protecting us. (Our Farmhouse is Veteran owned)

We are deep in to rental season and have had renters book to attend family members college graduation. Another booked to attend a wedding a few miles up the road. Another was a family that live in three different directions and chose memorial day to meet up. They seemed to really enjoy the campfire.
Although it hasn't really been warm enough to swim yet, a few of them brought paddle boards and gave it a try.

One thing some of the adults did was take advantage of the golf course just ten minutes away.

Since so many have golf on their mind this week, why not talk to a couple of friends or couples that you enjoy golfing with and get away for the weekend; get in a few rounds of golf and come back in the afternoon; throw in a rod or just relax and enjoy the surrounds of nature.

We have had two successful weekends to start off our rental season. The first weekend, the weather was beautiful; the guests were able to christen our new firepits; fish; swing on the new tree swing; and the older kids brought paddle boards. This past week, our guests were some college buddies away for a fishing weekend and relaxation. Although the weather didn't cooperate very well, they got to fish in between the rain and already booked for next year. So we would call that a good start.

The second day of Spring and a brisk chill in the air compared to the warm 70 degree day we had a few days ago.

During this season when many of us are on the inside looking out, why not begin to set your sights on planning a spring or summer get away!

Fishing begins in April and the lake is usually warm enough to swim by end of May. There is also bike riding, golfing and hiking nearby. Great wineries, breweries and Restaurants. Not to mention a large area to play games, two fire pits and a great porch with a view of it all!

Happy New Year to you and your families! We want to take this time to wish all of our guests that have spent time at our Farmhouse in 2024 a very Happy New Year! We hope you made some great memories swimming fishing and hanging out with friends and family.

We will be working on our new fire pits for 2025 and sprucing up our launch and swimming access.

If you know of friends or family members looking for a family friendly and peaceful retreat for 2025 give us a look! We love welcoming people from all over. We have had guests from as far CA OR and IA and some local guests as well as OH WV KY and Erie and Pittsburgh.

Over the Christmas holiday we had our first winter guests. Winter can be great or a little gloomy. You either get a snow filled visit where you can romp in the snow or stay inside and relax looking at the winter waterfowl and ice covered lake or like two weeks ago get a balmy 60 degree few days. Somewhat rare in Northwest PA.

We will be closing down for the winter. Every year our goal is to update something with the hopes of providing more conveniences to our guests without changing the vintage feel provided by The Farmhouse. This winter we're working on updating the fire pits. Positioning them to be able to focus on the lake. Adding a few little extras so again our guests can enjoy the lake at the same time.
